Complete Headline: Dallas police were WARNED Lee Harvey Oswald would be murdered by a 'committee' - but still sent him to his death, infuriating FBI head J Edgar Hoover, newly released JFK documents reveal
The murder of Lee Harvey Oswald could have been prevented after the FBI were warned of his impending death - but Dallas police failed to protect him, it has emerged.
Nearly 3,000 documents related to JFK's shooting have been declassified by The White House, among them remarks made by then-FBI boss J Edgar Hoover the day Oswald died.
According to Hoover, the FBI were contacted by a man who said a 'committee' was plotting to kill Oswald, who had been arrested for killing the president; the feds then told police in Dallas to protect the presidential assassin.
Instead, Oswald was walked out in front of a crowd, cameras - and local nightclub owner Jack Ruby, who marched out and shot him dead.

But I see no payoff for anyone from Vegas. Do you?
Our neighbor had the same rifle and he said to us- with this gun ,Really!
How do we know the FBI warned the Dallas Police to protect Oswald? Because some CYA memo said they did? Even if they did - so what? The Dallas Police held the man accused of assassinating a President. They didn’t need some memo to tell them Oswald might be in danger.
not having cop in the front made him an easy target, especially since Ruby could walk right into the garage.
Marina claimed it had been buried after the Walker assassination attempt.
Any reenactments were not with this rifle and the FBI tests showed that it was in terrible shape so that they were afraid to shoot it for fear of the firing pin flying back in the face of the shooter.
The WC tried to duplicate the shots with expert riflemen shooting at stationary targets. It failed to do so.
It was not accurate because shims had to be placed under the sight for it to be accurate.
There is no evidence that LHO ever practiced with it. That charade at the shooting range was to bring attention to him
by his Deep State handlers. Just as the episode at the auto dealership.
Even when brand new the MC was a piece of crap. It was called “the Mercy Rifle” by the Italian soldiers because it was so inaccurate.
My information comes from dozens of book including the apologists and the WCR and exhibits.
Sylvia Meager show just how duplicitous that report was.
The WCR is a monumental Lie.
No kidding.
What “committee’ was to kill him?
California and he wanted no part of this. LBJ basically guilt-tripped him to take the chair with fears of a communist involvement and nuclear war.
It wasn’t a committee it was a conspiracy involving the heads of three mob families. Killing people was its expertise.
Thanks for the mention.
I always find myself wondering how much of it is devious, and how much of it is just human error/human nature.
Thank you. Glad to see that not everyone here sees the phantom hand of conspiracy around every corner!
There was way too much happenstance in Rubys murder of Oswald for it to be preplanned.
Oswalds marksmanship that day in Dealey Plaza has been duplicated many times. The hallmark of a true conspiracy hound is regurgitating long discredited faslehoods.
“He also killed Tippet, and would have killed the arresting officer if the officer didnt jam the gun with the web of his thumb.”
I am hearing some new angles regarding Officer Tippet that were prompted by the new releases. Was Tippet part of the conspiracy and was his to knock-off the Patsy ( Oswald), ... but was foiled by Oswald. Did Tippet kill Kennedy? A question posed by Hoover. Also Tippet was connected to Ruby.
The expert who examined Oswalds rifle could not determine that the inaccuracy of the scope was due to damage score November 22 1963 or after Oswald dispensed with the rifle that day. That Oswald COULD NOT have made the shots simply cannot be proven.
Yeah, Campisi's was also an alleged part of some connection between the Dallas "family" and Carlos Marcello - and there's a very odd "Certificate of Appreciation" on the wall in the place, bearing the seal of the City of New Orleans and signed, IIRC, by 1960s mayor Vic Schiro. I guess Vic really liked the baked Ziti.
I always thought LBJ, Kennedy was distraught
at the killing of Diem and wanted to pull out of
Vietnam, but LBJ needed the war to continue to
cover for the institution of his “Great Society”
socialization program, also NASA was eating up
a lot of money that could pay for it.
Just my guess.
One should keep in mind that the Carcano was the offficial
rifle of the Italian Olympic team before the war.
