BREAKING: FIRST CHARGES FILED IN MUELLER INVESTIGATION (CNN)
CNN ^ | 27 Oct 17 | Pamela Brown, Evan Perez and Shimon Prokupecz

Washington (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.

Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said.

It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.

On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.

Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.

Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.

The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation.

CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia. Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. His team has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony to a handful of figures...

It could be the low level B players. The hitch in that scenario is the mystery resignation out of the blue by boente..

Could just be coincidence

If Boente is a witness then wouldn’t he be required to step down BEFORE the case was presented to the grand jury?

I don't believe witnesses are called in grand-jury hearings. A prosecutor simply lays out his case and evidence, and the grand jury votes whether it warrants a trial. Yes, the bar is *very* low for a prosecutor in grand-jury hearings.

We shall see. One thing to keep in mind is that Trump is not a fool or a tool.

Whole lot of speculation here and too much of it positive. The swamp: Mueller, Rosenstien, Comey, McCabe, and the Clintons all participated in the Uranium deal, their futures depend on taking out Trump and continuing the coverup. Watergate and Iran-Contra are just be JV trials compared to whats about to happen. Never could I have imagined the depth of corruption we are witnessing.

Agree 100%

I served on a grand jury for a few months (many cases, small rural county) and we heard from cops and a few victims, and lawyers, no witnesses.

The bad thing about twitter is that sometimes the info is unreliable(sometimes, LOL most of the time) a few weeks ago some dude named Jack something, he tweets A LOT, he had tweeted that John Kelly was resigning, had given his resignation papers weeks earlier..was NOT true..in fact President Trump tweeted that the deep state was wrong yet again that Kelly was NOT going anywhere..so really how reliable is this Larry Schweikart person or this Name Redacted person

Right — but wouldn’t Boente’s involvement in the Mueller investigation (in any capacity) jeopardize the case if he is later called as a witness in the criminal trial?

I’ve been reading what LS thinks about all this daily. The idea that Mueller is going to go after Trump administration people is, IMHO, totally off base. Why? they didn’t do anything! But others were colluding with Russia....

I follow Larry but I wouldn’t know him from a hole in the wall..this name redacted person is new, from his profile he is a Trump supporter(I follow anyone on twitter who has a MAGA on their profile) so from what he’s saying, its NOT Manafort, its NOT the Trump kids, its NOT Flynn..and no one associated with Trump or his campaign..so who?

I know the Jack fellow. He’s notorious for fake news. He’s been called out before, and I’ve condemned him as well going very very far back. He was the one who spread that nonsense about the CNN doxx victim being a gay teen. It got DTJr into an awkward tweet since he believed it.

This fellow routinely claims to have sources and just reports what he THINKS is about to happen, but claiming the authority of secret knowledge to do it.

The problem is, whoever Mueller indicts the defense lawyers will make Mueller (and various others) under the spotlight.
