Democratic candidates lead by 15 points in a hypothetical matchup for the 2018 midterm elections, according to a new Fox News poll.
In the survey, 50 percent of respondents said that if the election for Congress were held today, they would vote for the Democratic candidate. Only 35 percent said they would vote for a Republican.
About a year ago, the same question showed voters evenly split, with 45 percent saying they would vote for a Democrat, and 45 percent saying they would vote Republican.

Look at the poll internals.....
What was the oversample of democRATS vs Republicans ?
I’d bet it was +8 democRAT and +7 Independent.
And THAT is your 15 points.
Actually the Fox poll was fairly accurate. Clinton did get 48+%, while Trump got around 46%. Just that they didn’t get the electoral vote right. Now as to how Clinton got 48%.....
Here we go again...
Long way to go before 2018 midterms. If Congress passes tax reform and repeal of most of Obamacare, the polls will change. The state of the economy, the results of the Russia investigation by the special counsel, the impact of the latest revelations on Uranium One, the Steele dossier, the Clinton Foundation, etc. will influence the polls. And then are foreign policy issues like North Korea, Iran, ISIS, Syria, and Russia that could dominate the news.
Add to this the current reality on how many Congressional districts are really in play. The Reps have a decided advantage thanks to gerrymandering. In the Senate the Reps have 10 seats up in 2018 compared to over 20 for the Dems.
The Dems will have the advantage of more energized voters. Turnout will be key. Trump will be urging his voters to give him the people he needs to drain the swamp. Historically, the Dems will make gains in the midterms following a Presidential election. The question is how many.
The poll is pretty much accurate. It doesn’t take into account that us Conservatives hung up on them or said we wouldn’t vote for the republican candidate if he/she wasn’t a conservative.
“And this just in a new Faux News poll shows Hillary Clinton 107 points ahead of her hapless opponent some guy from New York.”
Truth
Exactly! It takes more than one election to clear out the traitor rinos......
And then they count that no vote against repubs as a yes vote for dems.
Viola! “Dems win the hypothetical poll!”
Given all the games played with polls (especially early polls) to try to shape the electorate, this poll doesn’t bother me.
What does bother me is the wasted opportunity. Mid-terms are all about turnout, and the core of Trump’s base - responsible individuals who want to see the political mess in DC cleaned up - would turn out in droves to support a Congress that supported Trump, at least in *something*.
Instead what they’re getting is a Congress that’s sitting on its hands, and if that doesn’t change, that Congress is going to get an electorate that will be sitting on its ass come election day.
Reminds me of GOPe or Glenn Beck nonsense.
Just Saying....
Just because the polls were skewed in the election, doesn’t mean this one is. It’s foolish to act like there aren’t issue right now with the GOP congress.
There are HUGE issues with the Repubs right now. I wouldn’t vote for any of them. They are lower than the gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe.
That said, polls mean zero to me right now. Just a way for the media to get out ahead of the Dems criminality being exposed right now.
D plus 12! and 47 percent Democrats! Evil!
D Plus 12!
Polls are phony and not worth posting.
This is a year out?
There goes that ole BS meter again.........
