They were off the mark this week. Way off with the first part. They’ve done fairly well the past few weeks so were due a miss. :-)
Go as a black cat? Too tame. Not scary. I go as a ghoul - - the “ghoul next door”. It creeps people out and that’s the whole idea. LOL!
I’ll be in and out. Trying to find Roxy. The stinker wouldn’t come in at suppertime and I can’t find her anywhere. Darn cat!!!!

Surviving the Wilderness
October 25, 2017
The message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed.
Hebrews 4:2
In the 1960s, the Kingston Trio released a song called Desert Pete. The ballad tells of a thirsty cowboy who is crossing the desert and finds a hand pump. Next to it, Desert Pete has left a note urging the reader not to drink the water in the jar left there but to use its contents to prime the pump.
The cowboy resists the temptation to drink and uses the water as the note instructs. In reward for his obedience, he receives an abundance of cold, satisfying water. Had he not acted in faith, he would have had only a jar of unsatisfying, warm water to drink.
This reminds me of Israels journey through the wilderness. When their thirst became overwhelming (Ex. 17:17), Moses sought the Lord. He was told to strike the rock of Horeb with his staff. Moses believed and obeyed, and water gushed from the stone.
Sadly, Israel would not consistently follow Mosess example of faith. Ultimately, the message they heard was of no value to them, because they did not share the faith of those who obeyed (Heb. 4:2).
Sometimes life can seem like an arid desert. But God can quench our spiritual thirst in the most unlikely circumstances. When by faith we believe the promises of Gods Word, we can experience rivers of living water and grace for our daily needs.
Help us to place our trust in You, Lord. You are what our heart thirsts after.
Only Jesus, the Living Water, can satisfy our thirst for God.
Three days after the Israelites left Egypt, the water they brought along was depleted. Finding no drinkable water in the Desert of Shur, they grumbled against Moses, and God miraculously made bitter water into good water (Ex. 15:2225). Soon their food supplies ran out, and they complained again. God miraculously fed them with manna and quail (16:136). As they approached Sinai, they complained yet again of no water (17:12). God had already shown them He could provide the water and food they needed. All they had to do was to trust Him! (Deut. 8:2; Ps. 81:78).
Consider how God has been faithful to provide for your physical needs. How has He satisfied your spiritual thirst?

But tomorrow is a work day and an earlier alarm, we'll see how it goes.

I am waiting in the bushes for knuckleheads to soap the windows LOL
Best trick ever in the old days was rosin up some black nylon thread and tie it to a safety pin.
Hook that pin in the old copper screen... go into the bushes and pull that line tight...
Do your magic on the rosined string... LOL!
WOOBAA WOOBAA WOOBAA! The screen would shake
Poor old guy would come to the door, “Who’s thar?”!
You let the line go slack, recede into the bushes, lather rinse and repeat until you have him in a real lather
THEN you put out the sack of flaming doggie dumpings! LOL

You Are Candy
Anyone who meets you automatically sees how sweet you are. You love to make others smile.
You are fun and energetic without being overwhelming. You have a lightness to you that others appreciate.
You are an optimist. You allow yourself to indulge, and you take delight in new and colorful things.
You have a sense of stability and inner comfort that others lack. You know how to find your happy place.

Howdy, Kathy.
Looks like your snow’s all gone but as cold as it is, the streets are going to be “fun” to drive on where they didn’t quite dry off. Be careful going home from work!
The cloud bank between the mountains and town is quite a sight right now. Wow!

Well good! You got to sleep in at least one morning before having to get up way early again. LOL
I did the grocery shopping a day early this week so that’s out of the way now. Picked up Pandy’s heart medicine while I was out. Real exciting day.
Was in a bit of a panic for a while this evening because I couldn’t find Roxy. Went out again a few minutes ago and she showed up. WHEW! Now I can relax, once my heart slows down again.

It took a sec to recognize the first song. Certainly doesn’t sound like The Monkees, does it?
