WASHINGTON Alexandrias top prosecutor says police were legally justified in using deadly force against the man who opened fire on a congressional baseball practice in June, injuring House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, of Louisiana, and four other people.
In a 41-page report released Friday, the commonwealths attorney for Alexandria, Bryan Porter, said police were justified in fatally shooting 66-year-old James T. Hogkinson who shot at Republican lawmakers practicing at a baseball field in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria for an upcoming charity baseball game.
This is a developing story. Stay with WTOP.com for updates.

So...the police were justified in taking down this nutcase before he went and killed all the other Republicans on the field.
Well golly gee...I know I'm relieved!

A mass shooting to achieve political aims is by definition terrorism. It’s nice to know that killing an armed terrorist is “legally justified”.

My thoughts exactly 41 pages! Should have been able to publish the justification in a 41 word memo!

This is an official finding.
We should be happy about it.
This isn’t evidence of something sinister. It’s a formality.

You read my mind!!! Sometimes you end up wishing that the bullets go in a different direction and eliminate guys like this. In this case, a simple one liner would have sufficed, but leave it to a lawyer, a government-paid lawyer at that, to waste the time and money to write a 41 page “tome.”

I’d still like to know how Hogkinson knew they were going to be there. It’s not like there was a formal announcement that the Republicans would be practicing there.

Even the liberal nuts who believe you have to wait to be shot before returning fire don’t have a case here.
Given that the female cop who delivered the fatal shot, had herself already been shot.

Why couldn’t they just’ve shot the gun out of his hand, like Paladin used to do?

Why couldnt they justve shot the gun out of his hand, like Paladin used to do? Believe it or not, there once was an idiot reporterette who asked that question of a cop giving a press conference about a dirtbag who took the "suicide by cop" route.
