Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock reportedly researched hotels near Fenway Park in the run up to the deadliest shooting in recent American history.
No hotel nearby the park commands a clear view of the Fenway stands.
Officials briefed on the investigation's details spoke to reporters on the condition of anonymity Thursday, revealing Paddock researched Boston and booked a hotel room in Chicago overlooking Grant Park when the Lollapalooza music festival would have been going on.
Boston police on Thursday issued a statement saying the department is aware Paddock likely researched the city and is working with federal authorities.

They are going to find that he was in a lot of different places.
He didn’t shoot them up.
He shot up this event.
Not licensed at the time of shooting because of meds he was taking for HBP I believe.
I don't care who you are, that there's just funny.
Well, he probably stayed at some other White majority Trump supporting events too.
If he didn’t shoot them up, does that mean he wasn’t targeting Conservatives then?
It goes both ways.
Think of the liability to AirBnB.
For those unfamiliar with the area there are no very tall buildings surrounding Fenway Park, much less hotels. The Park is in the Kenmore Square area. The largers hotels are not even close to it.
Not anymore there are new large apartment buildings surrounding Fenway Park today. A couple of new tall apartment buildings on Boylston street an some on Brookline ave. You are correct that there are no large hotels near the park that overlook the field.
That would imply that he was hauling numerous weapons into lots of different hotels.
That increases the chance of him getting caught.
They might exchange the cash in a motel, but they would examine the guns in a spot where they could be fired.
Dirty dealings are done by dirty people who don’t trust each other.
Sporting events like football and baseball are mostly conservative fans regardless of what city.
No, it doesn’t.
He MIGHT have shot up his grandma’s bathroom.
He DID shoot up this event.
Bet he was trying to get into Boston for a rap concert....wonder what days he was looking at?
I’m betting he was looking at this date:
Country hip hop /rap:

Shooter evidently didn’t like cultural appropriation... country rap.
My contention is Paddock has not only been "acquiring" weapons and ammo for decades, he's also been selling them illegally. That should make him a trusted supplier, no live fire tests required. Just a theory ...
I don’t know if he was a white separatist who hates rap because it’s originally a black music thang...
Or if he was a radical lib who hated cultural appropriation ...
But he seems to have an interest in concerts and festivals which involve rap and in particular, in the case where he actually followed through, white guys doing rap.
Fenway does have concerts... but there is also a casino in the area, and perhaps there were concerts associated with the casino he was interested in.

Yes, but the point you keep running from like a scalded cat, is whether he picked this one based on the actual crowd, or if it was just a large body of people.
The fact is, this event could have been selected on dumb luck rather than the people attending.
“Hey, there’s a large body of people hear some fuel tanks. I’ll use this event.”
Nobody knows for sure. Until we find a note, or some other evidence, it’s still speculation at this point.
Interesting observation. Thanks...
