This is very interesting. Russia is facing a problem in the Far East with a rapidly declining population, and is actually turning to the Chinese to help finance and build some of their infrastructure out there.

Wow legal residence in a former gulag in Siberia is now for sale (take your long johns). A new form of capitalism has definitely come to mother Russia.

Penal colony for America. Free labor for Putin. Remind him that the Chinese population needs a place to expand. Not good.

Whoa - the opportunity of a lifetime! At last I can own my own lead mine in Siberia. Subcontract to Gitmo for the labor and North Korea for the overseers and watch the money roll in. You guys are gonna be so jealous...

Malta,a European Union member, offers citizenship for a 650,000 Euro “investment”.A *much* better citizenship for *much* less money in a place where you're much less likely to be scammed.

Given the kleptocratic nature of the Russian government and its moribund economy, this won't find many takers. Even for $100K, I suspect the pickings would be slim. The EB-5 program offers a green card in exchange for an investment of $500K in rural areas and $1m outside of that. Uncle Sam hands out ~10,000 of those a year. Why anyone would invest $10m in Siberia which, like the rest of Russia, is run by sticky-fingered bureaucrats is a real mystery.

It’s really a consolation prize for those who can’t get an EB-5 visa.

You're not thinking big enough. $100T would make it truly exclusive.
