When these players take a knee during the National Anthem, they aren’t just disrespecting a flag or a song, they’re disrespecting every American patriot – and every American who has worn the uniform and died to keep us free

That's exactly how I see it.

Virginia Senatorial candidate Corey Stewart wants to strip the National Football League of its lucrative anti-trust exemption over its response to players taking a knee during the National Anthem.

This guy is an 'effing idiot.

Whether or not the NFL should lose its limited anti-trust exemption should be a consideration that stands on its own, and isn't subject to political winds related to the current idiocy with the national anthem and these player protests.

I don’t think it will matter much. The League itself is non-profit, but the teams are private, profit-and-loss corporations.

I had a local IRS agent/friend who audits our local NFL team tell me confidentially the team never pays any taxes though.....

About time. I’ve been suggesting that since the protests started. The owners allowed, then joined their employee’s protests. Seems fair that their anti-American disrespect result in ending their anti-trust exemption.

This idea has been posed before, and its time is long overdue.

Somebody needs to point out the NFL's hypocrisy on the question of "free speech." The league's written policy is to fine and/or suspend players who criticize NFL officials:

The NFL policy manual, distributed annually around the league, states: "Please note that public criticism by players or club employees of game officials or officiating is prohibited and is subject to fines and/or suspensions."

If you take away the anti-trust exemption, then teams will negotiate their own TV contracts instead of having the revenue sharing that takes place now. Say goodbye to teams in smaller markets like Buffalo and Jacksonville.

The democrats created racial divisuon when Obama through the abuse of his office and the “Bully Pulpit” began creating “victims” out of blacks engaged in criminal activities who were not just resisting legal arrest but responding by attacking legal authority and endangering their lives . It was a carpet of lies and inflamatory statemnts which went unchallanged and because it was suceeded..

The political purpose was to create racial division and a impeachable proof barrier as the continung political discourse continued.

With blame the cops for cold blooded killings started by Obama’s it was through his use of the Bully Pulpit. It began with his comments during the Zimmerman trial. Those inspired at least 10* deadly assaults ending in death of any non black who wandered near or in “hoods” controlled by members cf black gangs.

One such noteable case is that of Christopher Lane an Australian murdered by Crypts while visiting Duncan Oklahoma.*(At the time the media avoided any reference made to “For Trayvon” reason given in those murders by the culprits mainly gang members. Of the I think the figure (10)is more like 20 racially inspired murders)

NFL players seem to be kneeling on that same carpet

Obama was never held accountable for his inflamatory remarks. And because he wasn’t he contunued hammering away creating a wider racial division targeting police authority which resulted in cops being targeted and murdered in cold blood.

Yime to pull that rug from under their feet

Eliminating the exemption would expand football, allowing more athletes to compete, increasing employment and providing economic growth for more cities.
