RIO DE JANEIRO - In a rare act of collective defiance, scores of Cuban doctors working overseas to make money for their families and their country are suing to break ranks with the Cuban government, demanding to be released from what one judge called a "form of slave labor."
Thousands of Cuban doctors work abroad under contracts with the Cuban authorities. Countries like Brazil pay the island's Communist government millions of dollars every month to provide the medical services, effectively making the doctors Cuba's most valuable export.
But the doctors get a small cut of that money, and a growing number of them in Brazil have begun to rebel...
..."When you leave Cuba for the first time, you discover many things that you had been blind to," said Yaili Jimenez Gutierrez, one of the doctors who filed suit. "There comes a time when you get tired of being a slave."...
...The legal challenges are all the more important because the doctors have lost a common backup plan: going to the United States... President Barack Obama in January ended the program, which had allowed Cuban doctors stationed in other countries to get permanent residency visas for the United States.

When you have no taxpayers to fleece, “free universal healthcare” means enslaved doctors.
My skeptical side says these doctors still don’t “get it” insofar as communism vs free market econ is concerned. It’s just that their particular oxen got gored.

Socialism is by definition and historical fact: Slavery.
As soon as a socialist government runs out of money, they tell the workers, soldiers etc. that they have to keep working anyway.

LOL! I kid me sometimes. They could care less. All they want coming to the US are farm workers.

The Cuban DR's are simply seeking what God gave us all and not the Cuban government.
Not only is it free and best in the world, the doctors are the highest paid in the world, happiest, and most satisfied with their profession of all professional class people the world over. Don’t ever let anybody tell you otherwise.
For the doctors whose backup plan was to come to the US, they evidently have nothing binding them to Cuba other than the contract. Why not stop remitting the money to Cuba?
Apparently the Brazilian government is paying Cuba for these doctors, though. Is the Brazilian government indulging in slavery by proxy? And would they go after a doctor who jumped the plantation?
“Free” healthcare requires a slave class of healthcare workers.
It can’t work any other way.
