Sports teams ask a lot of their fans, especially in places like Green Bay. Where, depending on the time of year, a fan could get hypothermia while just sitting in his seat. However, one recent request the team has made of the Pack faithful has left fans feeling a little hot. The Packers players, led by their quarterback Aaron Rodgers, issued a call to their fans to join them in interlocking arms during the national anthem. However, some fans have not taken kindly to the request. According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Packers Director of Public Affairs, Aaron Popkey, says fan reaction has been intense.
Weve had a steady stream of feedback beginning Monday morning and it continued into Wednesday. Weve heard on both sides of the matter. We take note of their concerns.
The fact that Popkey alludes to the concerns of the fans, would certainly lead one to believe that the steady stream of fan feedback has definitely tacked more negative, than positive.
The issue of anthem protests, already a hot-button issue, became an even bigger story after President Trumps comments in Alabama last Friday night. Where, he referred to players who protested the anthem as SOBs, and said he wished their team owners would fire them.
Those comments, led to a backlash from the league last weekend. All told, more than 200 players from all 32 teams protested the presidents comments in some form, or fashion. The Packers stood with interlocking arms, in their game against the Bengals. With the exception of three players who remained on the bench.

Why would any decent person support a hate America group?
BS. I don't want to subsidize a bunch of FAKE PATRIOTS who have to be "forced" to show pride in the country that's given them more money and opportunity than any hundred people usually get, combined! They've taken off the mask and they can't put it back on and pretend (anymore) than we are all "united."
I’d be surprised if you couldn’t get some off of Ticketmaster. Especially now.
This has to be the dumbest of the dumb for the Packers to ask this of their fans. Don’t they understand that many of the people in the stands actually OWN a piece of that team??? IOW, they are both a customer and an owner that you are insulting? That doesn’t sound like a career-enhancing choice to me...
360,760 people own the Green Bay Packers. I’m guessing a few or so live in Green Bay. This will not end well if the team goes down that road.
I’m a 40+ year Bears fan and this is my second year of no interest and no viewing. I’ll stick with the Cubs.
Haven’t seen the alternative as of yet... doesn’t matter too late.
I wonder if networks will continue to not show negative fan reaction in the stadium crowds.
They have so far.
oh that’s interesting. before my time by a few years but I’d never heard that. I need to read even more ... which is not a big problem now that I have all those Sunday hours to use...
If some talented young fellow became enraged because his chance at the big bucks was ruined by the NFL ruining football, and took out his rage on some NFL person, and I was on the jury at his trial, I’d give heavy consideration to nullification.

>> “At this point, there is only one way for the NFL to deal with this:” <<
Dissolve the league ???
.
Yes, exactly. And add no obscene gestures or postures like grabbing you crotch, etc.
The Vietnamese representation in the NFL is just one measure of its diversity.
Well there was Dat Nguyen, who played for the Cowboys.
I’m loving the #NFLBurnNotice vids on YouTube.
Yes, it's defiance of America and the American public. It's another way of saying they are a "Union" against us.
The Green Bay Peckers can go f*ck themselves.
Yep.
The contempt they show for their fans is stunning.
I just checked out the Greenbay Packers FB page & most people are irate about what the Packers are asking them to do.
