Axios reports that Steve Bannon will be headlining a rally for Roy Moore, who is opposing Trumps pick Luther Strange in a runoff election to be held on Tuesday:
Steve Bannon is heading to Alabama Sunday night to rally for Judge Roy Moore on Monday night with Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty.
Why it matters: This rally is three days after President Trump, Bannons former boss, was in Alabama rallying for Moores opponent Mitch McConnells favored candidate Luther Strange. For Bannon to make a rare public appearance in such close proximity to Trump shows how invested he is in this race specifically, and attacking McConnell more generally. Another former White House adviser, Sebastian Gorka, rallied with Sarah Palin for Moore on Thursday.
From a source close to Bannon: Steve is coming to Alabama to support President Trump against the Washington establishment and Mitch McConnell. Steve views Judge Moore as a fierce advocate of Trump and the values he campaigned on.

Can anyone explain to me why Trump is not for Moore and is behind Mr. Strange?
Did you listen to President Trump explain it himself last night? If not, I can find the video for you.
You can’t show people a video on common sense can you? I’m fore Moore and I understand. Nothing personal but Moore is more.
It gives him leverage over McConnell and the other GOPe senators. He knows Strange is not awful, and Moore would be better, but can’t back him until Moore wins the primary. Then Mitch owes him.
Stopped reading at “Axios reports”.
Good observation there.
I think Moore is going to pull it out, and Trump isn’t hurt by it. Makes him look like a team player though.
His mention this morning that he might have made a mistake, is tantamount to him saying I really wish I had/could back Moore right now.
Folks will read a lot into that. Trump gets them coming and going.
“”Did you listen to President Trump explain it himself last night? If not, I can find the video for you.””
What I heard last night was Trump talking more about himself than about the candidate. Did not understand that. All that time and mostly about him and his administration. I quit watching waiting for him to talk about the greatness of a candidate he’s endorsing...I would pick Moore myself...he’s a known quantity and for standing up for his beliefs regardless of the complaints to the contrary! Why wouldn’t Trump recognize that as it’s also his way?
I agree with your post. I can’t see this hurting Trump at all. And I agree that Moore will win.
Why would Moore pull out if he’s ahead in the polls?
Red State is true to form. They are still stuck on ‘Never Trump.’ They remind me of McCain, always hunting for a reason to be negative.
It gives him leverage over McConnell and the other GOPe senators. He knows Strange is not awful, and Moore would be better, but cant back him until Moore wins the primary. Then Mitch owes him.
Are those the words you intended to type. It looks like perhaps a typo. I’m not arguing with you, just asking you for a clarification on your post.
The term I used was to, “...pull it out...”.
Win.

The GOPee told Trump that Luther was a sure thing for Ditch.
Moore? Not so much.
Supporting Luther is NOT part of MAGA.
Sorry about that ... I’m an idiot this evening. LOL.
You were not an idiot here.
I think it would have been better to use, “...pull it off...”, but the “...pull it out...” phrase is sometimes used too.
Take care.
If Moore wins, Trump gets a solid conservative guy. If Strange wins, he will be loyal. Either way, Trump wins. And if Moore wins, he can go to Mitch and say look, I tried, but the people don’t want what you’re selling, now get behind my program before I decide to start endorsing other candidates like Moore in the future.
Thanks bigbob.
Actually, I didn’t read it carefully and I thought you said “pull out,” not “pull it out.” In either case, I think your assessment is spot on! :-)
