he end is still nigh just not as nigh as it was earlier this week, a Doomsday writer says.
David Meade, who claimed the world is ending Saturday when a mysterious planet collides with Earth, is now backtracking on the calamitous claim.
Meade said the world wont end on September 23 after all, but instead, Saturday will only mark the beginning of a series of catastrophic events to occur over several weeks.
The world is not ending, but the world as we know it is ending, he told the Washington Post. A major part of the world will not be the same the beginning of October.
Meade said his prediction is based on verses and numerical codes found in the Bible, specifically in the apocalyptic Book of Revelation. He said recent events, such as the solar eclipse and Hurricanes Irma and Harvey, are omens of the approaching apocalypse.
The significant number is 33, according to Meade.

Yes, but the time will still be seven years - the Book of Daniel and Revelation are clear about that. Nevertheless, somehow it looks like the time for a given day will be shortened (Matt 24:22) - again God in his mercy and grace.
So it will be seven years but it looks like the days themselves will be shortened somehow - and thus the years themselves will be shortened - in the second 3 and 1/2 years of the horrific Great Tribulation.
Let me guess, the fraudster never cashed in his 401K or gave away his Cadillac......................LOL!
If you are right (even though this guy appears to have backtracked himself significantly and is reduced to playing word games now - in a Camping sort of way) then you're right ... BUT ... do you have a concession speech prepared for your friends on FR -- just in case?
Just know that I will be searching your screen name for postings on September 24.
FReegards!
Like a theif in the night...hmmmm.
Tomorrow hasn't arrived yet...........I'm worried.
Why did the Washington Post even give this guy the time of day?
Because, through this story, the WaPo can make Christianity look stupid. Libs HATE Christianity because it says that there is a god that they eventually will be accountable to, and also because Christianity is a rival to their Leftist secularism for the allegiance of the people.
Too late. The man is a certifiable idiot.
Thank you for the clarification, and cancellation of fake news. The rest of the story will eventually come out.
Okay in the timezone I am in it’s already 1 hour into the 23rd and I am still here. Could these people be more specific next time?
Maybe Rocket Man will fire 33 nuclear missiles tomorrow, but probably not.
Yes - It is!
"Bia Ba Mu'o'i Ba"
(With just a piquant touch of formaldehyde)
He'd have to get in line
This is why Jesus was so very clear about leaving all questions about when He was going to return to His Heavenly Father.
What a relief. I couldn’t figure out if the date was for Australia or Europe or which time zone....so confusing
.
Whew!
I hope he didn’t give away all of his clothes and food...
.
Not the real thing, just a ... duress ... rehearsal (bada-boom).
.
>> “Jesus didnt add any disclaimers with those statements.” <<
But he only made that statement to those who “will not watch.” (i.e. won’t keep his appointed times)
