WASHINGTON — Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel, has asked the White House for documents about some of President Trump’s most scrutinized actions since taking office, including the firing of his national security adviser and F.B.I. director, according to White House officials.
Mr. Mueller is also interested in an Oval Office meeting Mr. Trump had with Russian officials in which he said the dismissal of the F.B.I. director had relieved “great pressure” on him.
The document requests provide the most details to date about the breadth of Mr. Mueller’s investigation, and show that several aspects of his inquiry are focused squarely on Mr. Trump’s behavior in the White House.
In recent weeks, Mr. Mueller’s office sent a document to the White House that detailed 13 different areas that investigators want more information about. Since then, administration lawyers have been scouring White House emails and asking officials whether they have other documents or notes that may pertain to Mr. Mueller’s requests.
One of the requests is about a meeting Mr. Trump had in May with Russian officials in the Oval Office the day after James B. Comey, the F.B. I director, was fired. That day, Mr. Trump met with the Russian foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, and the Russian ambassador to the United States, Sergey I. Kislyak, along with other Russian officials. The New York Times reported that in the meeting Mr. Trump said that firing Mr. Comey relieved “great pressure” on him.

Looks to me like Mueller is looking to have himself fired. Ostensibly to keep the controversy going.

Good Grief. This request is so routine it is boring. If Mueller doesn’t cover all the details it would only provide fodder for the looney left.
They want to weaken the President by forcing him to say no, thereby making the issue one of “stone-walling.”
You are correct. So, Trump should not stonewall the request, he should simply reply GFY. If that A hole Mueller says what did you say, tell him GFY in spades.

Why doesn’t Mueller recuse himself from leading this witch hunt, especially since he is buddies with Comey the Leaker.
He can tie up staff and principal advisers in very expensive legal demands and responses. In addition to money, this diverts their time and attention from the Trump agenda. He can leak to the media damaging information. He can get his Grand Jury to indict key staff. He can get warrants including predawn raids like he conducted on Paul Manafort at his house. He can load the legal gun for Ryan and McConnell to impeach and try and convict Trump. And who knows what other trouble a politicized, highly motivated legal staff with deep ties to the Uniparty state can come up with.

Do like all the Dims always do, declare that Presidential thing that says he is not giving him anything because it violates his rights as prez. I forget what the heck they call it, but every time they ask Klinton, Obama for something they always used that deal.
