Washington (CNN)US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.
The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.
Some of the intelligence collected includes communications that sparked concerns among investigators that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign, according to three sources familiar with the investigation. Two of these sources, however, cautioned that the evidence is not conclusive.

Isn’t it so very odd.
Before the Election, we have the US government investigating a party’s nominee. Sometimes candidates have misused prior office for gain, colluded in receiving money with family members or violated national security and foreign contact laws. However in this case. we decide not to investigate the candidate committing these crimes, but instead, we wiretap the candidate from the opposite party of the President.
We let the obvious criminal slide on her email criminality, ignore the rest of the crimes and instead, illegally wiretap the challenger to our party, the Democrat Party.
IMO it wouldn't have been leaked if an indictment was pending. This was done to get DJT to react, perhaps even fire Mueller (which I think he should go ahead and do at this point).
I think the whole “Russia Collusion” was invented by the DNC as a cover for the DNC email leak. They knew they had a leaker, not a hacker. Out of embarrassment, they fabricated a story about “guccifer 2.0”. Once they put this story out they had to go all the way with it - since the RNC was not hacked, it must have been at the behest of the Trump campaign.
The FISA judges are also part of the problem.
The FISA judges appear to swallowed any line of crap put forth as a “justification” for the wire tap.
