Meghan McCain / Thoughts On Her Dad and His Replacement
My own thoughts | 09/15/2017 | Doughtyone for Free Republic

Posted on 09/15/2017 5:53:49 PM PDT by DoughtyOne

On Friday, October 10th, 2008, John McCain was giving a presentation at one of his rallies.  During this rally, an attendee stood up and asked a question about then candidate Senator Barack Obama.  LINK

McCain responded at length admonishing her for the premise she had presented about Obama, when she said she feared an Obama presidency.

During his presentation, he told her, the other attendees, and citizens around the nation that they had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency.

It was essentially an endorsement.  Anyone aprehensive about an Obama presidency was told not to have any fear.  This was effectively a kill shot to his own campaign.

Whatever McCain had going for him, it ended right then and there.  Note the date.  Note the time frame.

Eight years later, on Saturday, October 8th, 2016, John McCain very publicly withdrew his support for Republican Nominee Donald J. Trump.  LINK

Senator McCain had chosen to once again toss an election up into the air with his personal actions on a weekend about one month before a November election, this time to possibly destroy another Republican's election bid.

He did this saying the following:

"I have wanted to support the candidate our party nominated. He was not my choice, but as a past nominee, I thought it important I respect the fact that Donald Trump won a majority of the delegates by the rules our party set," McCain said in a lengthy written statement. "I thought I owed his supporters that deference."

"But Donald Trump’s behavior this week, concluding with the disclosure of his demeaning comments about women and his boasts about sexual assaults, make it impossible to continue to offer even conditional support for his candidacy. (McCain's wife) Cindy, with her strong background in human rights and respect for women fully agrees with me in this."

This from a man bedding anything in sight as a young man, neglecting his studies to come in a few people short of the bottom of his class, to live the wild life during his college years.  Why did he seek the presidency if he thought unfortunate male behaviors were a valid reason to rule someone out?  Lest someone think I'm being unfair, since those episodes took place early in his life, let's recall how McCain descrbed the night he met his future wife in Hawaii.  "I persuaded her to join me for drinks at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. By the evening's end, I was in love."  LINK  LINK  At that very moment his wife who stood by him while he was a POW in Vietnam, was waiting patiently with their kids back in thier home in the mainland lower 48 states.  Within months McCain would be divorcing his wife, and marrying Cindy very soon after that.  The whole precess was concluded within 60-90 days, including his marriage to Cindy.  He obtained a marriage license to wed Cindy before his divorce was final.  Did this disqualify John, the grand protector of women?  Evidently not.  Still trying to find a moment in John's personal life when character mattered.

As for Cindy being the go-to person to judge someone else, she was perfectly fine with screwing over John's then current wife and their children.  Should peope have used her as their guide considering Trump's morals.

At the links provided above, it states that Carol (his first wife) and Nancy Reagan endorsed him for president.  The endorsement of both was very magnanimous of them.  Carol was devistated during and after the whirl-wind divorce.  Ron and Nancy Reagan were not amused.  They and other well known Reagan confidants personally helped Carol out during this period.

It has been a long time since I have read these materials, but a source that died on the internet was not as gracious to the Senator.  He was a carousing ally-cat.  Carol was obviously NOT aware of this, desirous of, or expecting a divorce.

As I read the materials I'm linking here, it seemed as if they had been cleaned up, sensitive negative matrials smoothed out.  Reading between the lines, it's still very clear what took place.

Not only was Cindy a good looking woman, but equally or even moreso important was the fact she was the daughter of a very wealthy man.  Jim Hensley  LINK

On Wednesday, October 19th, 2016, just 20 days before the Trump vs Clinton election on November 8th, 2016, Meghan McCain appeared on FoxNews to explain why she was joining her dad and others to try to destroy Trump's candidacy.  LINK

Other highly visible Republicans had started calling for Trump to withdraw from the 2016 ticket.  Trump's response was, "Not in a million years!"

Both McCains and Republican leaders (GOPe)  were urging Trump to step down, voicing concerns about the Republicans losing Congress. (one has to wonder why, realizing what those fools have done with their majority Trump won for them.)

Meghan McCain may now stand poised to take over her father's seat for the remainder of his term, if his illness pregresses to the point where he passes away short of the end of his present term on January 1st, 2023.

The question is, is Meghan simply another slippery GOPe stallwart.  You have to look at what the ramifiations of her actions were in the waning days of October 2016.

If she does serve out the remainder of her dad's term, she will be in the U.S. Senate for the next 40-50 years.

That family has had it's day working it's magic for our nation.

For God sake Arizona, enough already!

In conclusion, her, her father, and the GOPe stampede to abandon Trump flew in the face of Hillary Clinton almost certainly being assured of the presidency if he had withdrawn.  People had signed on to support Presidential Nominee Donald Trump, not V.P. candidate Pence.

Imagine these political insiders not being the slightest bit concerned about a Clinton presidency.  Folks will have to ask themselves if this really the caliber of person we want to serve in John McCain's seat, should he pass away?  Shouldn't we want people that won't vote against us on many issues?

Now is the time to think of this and make your thoughts known.

A non-resident of Arizona, avoiding the mention of McCain as much as humanly possible.

Don’t like him.
Don’t care for his daughter.
Certainly remember hearing his words that evening he spoke to America telling US there was nothing to fear in a BO’B presidency. Perhaps he had no fear, being who he was and all, but the average American? We turned sheet white at the thought.

No remorse, no condolences, just smiling as we wave goodbye and perhaps close a terrible chapter of American history. A short, bitter, bitter small man.

I think he has committed treason also. For that matter I think Obama, Clinton, Graham, and possibly Rubio joined him.

They advocated and facilitated the arming and funding of the Muslim Brotherhood, clearly a terrorist organization that was an enemy of the United States and or it’s allies.

We have a very good working relationship with Hosni Mubarak.

He was overthrown using their funding and weapons.

Soros funded them in Tunisia, and I believe his foundations did in Libya and Egypt also.

Soros is a one man foreign policy wonk, something that is expressly forbidden. I believe it is a prison level offense.

Obama, McCain, Clinton, Graham, and Rubio were aware of all this.

The problems in Syria grew out of this IMO.

The whole region was destabilized. At one point or another, upwards of around 13 nations had active movements on the ground over there.

I think the goals was to form a United States of Iran, or at the very least a tight nit group of nations that would be inclined to go after Israel.

I’ve had push-back on the Iran portion of this, by folks citing Iran’s sect of Islam, and saying this couldn’t work.

I’m not convinced of that.

We know it wasn’t Soros intentions to help Israel or us, so that means all these folks were working against the best interests of the United States and Israel.

Treason?

This is not the Philippines. Why should she be given the plush cushy chair her father sat in for umpteen years? If she wants it, let her earn it. Her father succeeded in his masquerade during his tenure, surely some of this rubbed off onto her. Of course, if given the opportunity, the GOPe would attempt to slip her in knowing she’d continue the damaging path her father chose. The entire lot dearly loves to screw America and US

You aren’t alone and not only for his past actions either. He doesn’t even have the decency to step down now with only days left in his life. He’s the most selfish ass in AZ politics today. Of course Flake is a close second. How we ended up with two RINO’s in a once solid red state is unknown but I think the old transplants and Veterans who think he’s a hero for getting shot down in VN has something to do with it.

His sole goal in life is to be a goat head thorn under the toe of President Trump.

She has had 32 years of learning the fine art of the acceptance of graft from dear old dad.
Of course John’s dance partner Linda Graham will be more than happy to guide her through the process of “growing” into the job.

She would be the wrong choice on so many levels. First of all, it would be a sympathy appointment, no political experience and never having had to present her views to the people of AZ.

The governor would do better to pick someone who’s run for office, a Congress critter maybe, who the people have already chosen for office.

Once she’s in it’s too late. People would elect a ham sandwich if they’ve seen the name as a sitting senator. Not the brightest bunch.

"Best case scenario is she gets to DC and realises she is in no way up to the job and passes on re-election."

People of minimal abilities and unsound judgment do not come to such healthy realizations. SHe would think she is God's Gift to the Senate and stay for decades. She must NOT be appointed, please please please, Governor Ducey.... do not make such a grotesque error, no matter what inducements may be offered to you.

This has always driven me nuts. In what other posuction does the spouse of a deceased person, other than Congress, take over the deceased person’s position. Does it happen in any other profession, say accountant, engineer, lawyer, truck driver? If anything, there should be a law/rule against this practice.

“Nice...you want McConnell’s puppet Strange to win the runoff!”

Not at all, you misunderstood my post. Moore is the only choice, but he’s injecting his “faith” into the picture unnecessarily. Face it, the man is a religious zealot, who has suffered several defeats in his quest to Keep the Ten Commandments in the public square (which I regard as a good thing) but which raises concerns for the less religious among us. We need him to defeat Strange for the chief reason that Strange is a GOPe puppet who owes his allegiance to Mitch McScrotumNeck. I just hope that he wins in spite of his recent totally unnecessary (and untrue comments) regarding “punishment of the country in the perpetration of 911.” I don’t know how “your God works,” but mine would not consider such an act against nearly 3,000 innocent people.

I wonder if his cancer is much further along than they are letting on???

AZ would never go for Meghan to complete her father’s senate seat.

Megan McCain may be John's daddy's girl, but John McCain was Obama’s daddy's girl

I don’t think anybody in AZ would know or recognize a member of the McCain family if they were standing next to them! They are not visible at all in Phoenix!!

If she is half as arrogant as daddy you are right.
John McCain pretty much owns the Arizona GOP from what I hear here so he has many favors to call in as well as possible blackmail information.
He will use everything he has to attempt a McCain dynasty in Arizona politics.

There is no difference between McVain and her Vileness Queen Hillary.
They BOTH have nasty attitudes, contempt for the voters and they both have a body count.

We should honor the memory of John McCain by having Sarah Palin fill his vacant seat.

One of the best Reps in Congress and the only guy who has walked away from the corrupting power of Washington twice

Trump should demand term limits for congress and all Judges except SCOTUS. He should bring it up every day and refuse to sign anything else until it happens. I think the majority of Americans would agree that lifetime politicians are destroying the country and becoming multi-millionaires on an income that no one else living in Washington would he able to. Then when they become too old or sick to even go to the bathroom by themself much less have a cogent thought they are allowed to continue on the job when in any normal job you would be forced to retire. I want to see the President every day on a microphone say something like “Well another day has passed and still nothing from the career politicians Ryan and McConnell on the publics desire that term limits be imposed to end their power hungry quest to sqeeze every penny they can from hard working Americans while they continue to get rich and build walls around their homes while refusing to build a wall to protect us from invaders who want to either kill us or take away what little these career politicians have decided to let us keep of our own hard earned income.”
