Liberals are freaking out over Trump "killing" DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). But is that what just happened? Or is Trump just gain showcasing his skills at "The Art of the Deal"?
First, it turns out Donald Trump knows more about the Constitution than supposed constitutional law expert Barack Obama.
All immigration laws must come from Congress. Period. The president has no right to make immigration law via Executive Action. Obama knew that. He just didnt care. On numerous occasions, early in his presidency Obama stated publicly he had no power or right to make immigration law, or save the so-called Dreamers. His actual words in July 2010,
There are those in the immigrants rights community who have argued passionately that we should simply provide those who are [here] illegally with legal status, or at least ignore the laws on the books and put an end to deportation until we have better laws. ... I believe such an indiscriminate approach would be both unwise and unfair.
Then, out of the blue, Obama gave amnesty anyway. But even after deciding to become a dictator and creating DACA with Executive Order, Obama publicly called it temporary.
All Trump did was correct Obamas illegal, un-Constitutional action follow the letter of the law hand it back to Congress publicly challenge and embarrass GOP Congressional leaders like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to do their job and heres the big one
Unfortunately, RINO establishment GOP leaders dont understand the Art of the Deal. Everything in Washington DC is a negotiation. Why would I give you something and get nothing in return? Maybe we should ask moronic GOP leaders, who have cut horrible one-sided deals for years, gaining conservatives nothing in return.
Trump didnt kill DACA. Hes simply a brilliant businessman and negotiator looking for a fair deal. By throwing it back to Congress with a six-month deadline before DACA dies, President Trump has put conservatives in "pole position" for a good deal.
So, let me dream out loud. Here's the deal I'd accept in return for passing DACA. I'm betting most conservatives would accept this deal too. Is this where President Trump is headed?
We'd support DACA if
#1) Congress passes a dramatic tax cut- the biggest in American history. This is the only way to save the middle class and permanently turn around the U.S. economy. Tax cuts cannot be revenue neutral. They must be LARGE and significant for every income group. Thats how you inspire patriotic American entrepreneurs to take risks and create quality middle class jobs by the millions.
#3) Congress votes to end birthright citizenship. How stupid do you think we are? Well that question applies to commonsense conservatives like me. It certainly doesnt apply to idiots like the GOP leadership. Why would I allow 800,000 people illegally in the country to stay, unless I fix the problem so it can never happen again?
#4) Every single one of these 800,000 "dreamers" must serve in the military. This is how they show their patriotism and thanks to the American people and at the same time, pay off their debt of gratitude.
#5) Now to the terms of DACA. Because clearly all 800,000 cannot be granted legal citizenship. There are reports many thousands of these "dreamers" have criminal records. There are reports President Obama purposely never conducted a detailed vetting of their backgrounds.
So, there are certain non-negotiable deal points:
A) All "dreamers" will undergo extreme vetting.
B) If youve ever committed a crime while here, youre deported.
C) If you ever voted in the past, you committed voter fraud and almost certainly Identity Fraud too. Youre deported. Liberals claim theres no mass voter fraud by illegals. Really? Lets find out.
D) You must agree to not accept welfare, food stamps or any other form of government welfare for the first five years after DACA. Liberals claim youre all here to work. Really? Lets find out.
E) You must possess proficient English skills. If you can't pass an American history examine in English, you cant stay.
If President Trump can negotiate this deal, he is the greatest deal-maker ever in the White House. And hell have the support and blessing of 63 million conservativeTrump voters. I predict this kind of deal would win Trump re-election by landslide in 2020. Wanna bet?
Thats the Art of the Deal.
> All Trump did was correct Obamas illegal, un-Constitutional action follow the letter of the law
Trump did not such thing. He has since January continued Obama’s illegal “Executive Action” and intends to continue it for at least six more months.
PING
It may be acceptable, but the devil is in the details. I no longer truest the Republicans do accomplish anything that resembles winning.
Bingo
Good post
anye deal trump needs to get more then agreemnte. For instanc ethe wall—fully funded up front before signing any DACA agreement.
The dems and the GOPe aare liars, don’t take their word, which meant squat on anything.
on any deal trump needs to get more than just agreement. For instance the wallfully funded up front before signing any DACA agreement.

Agreed to all points...he left out some statement which keeps this from turning into 40,000,000.
Yeah - and to think we could have had Bernie or Hillary instead of this dweeb -— twit.
Trump didn’t do that at all. And DACA would be dead if he did because Congress would never agree to those terms.
Instead he tried to thread the needle by telling the base he was keeping his promise in ending Obama’s illegal executive action when a deadline approach for him to address it—while conspiring with Congress to make an expanded—that is, even worse—version cemented into a new law—contrary to the campaign promises that got him elected.
And of course he slithered down into the usual politician gutter, once caught, by claiming that amnesty isn’t amnesty or, reportedly now, that somehow by stalling a bit making the amnesty recipients citizens that he’s not creating a new group of voters that will drown out any conservative adherence to constitutional principles in future elections.
At least the GOP would have resisted Hill and Bern when they tried to pass amnesty.
But really, Trump’s deceit and theft goes back to the primary, when he wrestled the nomination from Cruz or Paul, who might have got some conservative legislation passed.
Trump didn't amnesty anyone.
On the flip side, anyone who thinks the "Dreamers" will be mass deported are living in a sick fantasy world.
As I said in other posts:
The Congress will either do something or it won't. Anyone who thinks/ever thought that the "Dreamers" would be mass deported are living in fantasy worlds. They wouldn't take in a puppy from a stray dog, raise it as part of the household for years, then drive it a thousand miles away and drop it off, but think we should do the same to those (humans) who the government basically did the same thing with. They'd want the heads of someone who would treat a dog like that.
Reality bites - get over it.
Congress’s “solution” will include amnesty. The uniparty wants it and is even demanding it. The bill will be passed with veto proof majorities. Then what will Trump do? Sign it - because he has “no choice”.
Unlike others around here I don’t worship Trump. He said an idiotic thing.
What's your brilliant solution?
That is a weird habit.
Ummmmm - it's because it expresses a serious doubt about the rationality and ability to assimilate information of the comment(er) I'm responding to.
