The Trump administration has no plans to charge former IRS official Lois Lerner over her role in the Tea Party targeting scandal, the Justice Department said Friday in response to calls by Republican lawmakers to revisit the case.
In a letter to the lawmakers, the Justice Department said that "reopening the criminal investigation would not be appropriate based on the available evidence."
This past April, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady, R-Texas, and Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Ill., had asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to take a "fresh look" at the case.
Despite numerous hearings and inquiries into the tough treatment of conservative groups by the tax agency during the 2010 and 2012 elections, the Obama Justice Department had announced in 2015 that no one at the IRS would be prosecuted. They said at the time that investigators had "found no evidence that any IRS official acted based on political, discriminatory, corrupt or other inappropriate motives that would support a criminal prosecution."

This is why Obama, VJ and Holder keep doing what they are doing.
No one ever has to face prison.
This is a BIG mistake.
What is her life-time payout in retirement benefits?
How can the government justify chasing the Bunkerville fellows?
Jes sayin....
P.s. It was fun while it lasted...
> Ummm because Trump has gone to the dark side?
Would that be AG Jeff Sessions call?
DC, a criminal freak show. This is not your DC anymore.
AG Sessions is definitely part of the swamp.
This is a serious disappointment of Trump. He needs to step in and demand prosecution.
No, of course not.... she’s a democrat after all
1. I’m not sure that a criminal case would survive a motion to dismiss based on Speedy Trial violation, even if there was statute of limitations time left.
2. It seems that any criminal case would be based on “discrimination” and the DOJ generally reserves those for racial discrimination (and only white on black). Political discrimni9naito may not even be covered suspect category.
3. The squawkers here are Congressmen. They should enact a clear law that says Lois’ conduct is illegal.
4. Since 501(c)(3) organizations must not engage in any political activity, the IRS has a lot of leeway to look into political motives of given groups. The problems here is it was one sided. The Obama people fast tracked liberal and terror groups but sat on conservative sounding groups (words like Patriot, Freedom etc. in title).
Bigger fish to fry.
If I knew the Administration had no intention of prosecuting anybody like Lerner,Clinton and all of the other scum,I would not have voted for President Trump. As a matter of fact, a good portion of Obama’s administration seems to be running things. That troll Koskinen is still the head of the IRS! WTF!
Democrats/Progressives behave like a Mafia family...not anything the Founding Fathers could dream of...they were worried about Kings and Queens...not hardened criminals.
What would you do?
_______________
Invoke Nuremberg. following orders is not an excuse.
repubs control the senate, the house, the supreme court the presidency and the attorney general.
BUT democrats run the country and get just about everything they want.
Repulsive.
The Justice Department could make this a lot better by adding a single statement: “...because of the cooperation Lois Lerner has provided to the Department.”
And then let slip out that Lerner had sung like a canary to implicate both Hillary and Obama.
Yeah, I suppose it is harsh to give someone a death penalty like that...
Yes, she would commit Arkancide very quickly. Maybe Sessions would have to add a caveat, that if she turns up dead, Obama and Clinton will be investigated for forcing her to commit Arkancide. 👍😊
Both Savage and Levine have been railing against Trump and his “true believers” in recent broadcast
Just look a Trump’s major campaign promises:
build the wall
end illegal immigration
end Obamacare
end runaway spending
tax reform
drain the swamp
after 8 months not a smidgen of progress, and he has kicked out his conservative staff and surrounded himself with progressive-leaning generals
