U.S. Seeks U.N. Consent to Interdict North Korean Ships
By DAVID E. SANGER SEPT. 6, 2017
WASHINGTON The Trump administration on Wednesday circulated a draft resolution at the United Nations Security Council that would effectively empower the United States Navy and Air Force to interdict North Korean ships at sea, inspect them to determine whether they are carrying weapons material or fuel into the country, and use all necessary measures to enforce compliance.
The language is included in a remarkably broad draft that would ban the shipment of all crude oil, refined petroleum and natural gas to North Korea, essentially seeking to plunge a country of 25 million people into a deep freeze this winter if its leaders fail to begin giving up their nuclear weapon and missile programs.
The resolution circulated three days after the North conducted its largest nuclear test to date would also seek to block all the assets of Kim Jong-un, the countrys leader, and virtually all the assets of the countrys military and its sole political party.

P!
I’m more partial to “don’t ask permission, ask forgiveness.” Anybody complains, tell the UN to GTFO.
Since when do we need anyone’s approval to conduct our naval operations?
This might make Kimberely angry.
Ask, what is this ask shit?
Don't run into them.
Permission from the U.N.?
LOL
Hope the cameras ar on just like the cops.
Not oil or gas; material that emits!
This is probably Trump telling China....”You asked world leaders to support us..well here ya go!”.... Because that was China’s recent request..that more leaders world wide be on board....I don’t think Our Gov. needs to ask when it’s apparent Fat Boy has threatened us time and again.... But Trumps playing China’s so there’s no room for China to complain or play the blame game when all is said and done.....
Even if they said no, we’d still do what we want.
This could be an effective tactic IF China and Russia and the others were to agree to stand together against NK. I am doubtful that will happen.
Actually it is still a good tactic even if no one goes along because it demonstrates that the U.S. tried to work with the world community via the UN and exhaust all diplomatic and economic options before resorting to military means. Trump wants to leave no stone unturned.
This is an astute political move IMO.
Acting with the UN is not a unilateral act of war.
The request is intended to stir up the whole world into the NORK debacle.
Interdict them with Mark 48 ADCAP.
With or without the U effing N permission, if the U.S. tries this, the Norks will start shooting. Bad decision if persued.
Notice the wording from the NYT, as if freezing the people is the goal instead of preventing NK's use of nuclear weapons.
