In a surprise move, the Trump administration on Thursday sided with a Colorado bakery whose owner is arguing to the Supreme Court that he should not need to bake a cake for a same-sex couple when their ceremony violates his religious beliefs.
Colorado's public accommodation law bans discrimination based on sexual orientation, and its courts have ruled that means businesses catering to the public cannot discriminate against same-sex couples seeking services for weddings or other commitment ceremonies.
Masterpiece Cakeshop, however, is run by Jack Phillips, a man who incorporates his Christian faith into the way he runs his business. Baking a cake, which he maintains is a form of creative expression, for a same-sex couple would violate his religious beliefs and, as such, he has refused to do so.
The Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruled against Phillips, as did Colorado courts, but the Supreme Court agreed this June to hear his case this fall.
On Thursday, in a filing at the high court, the Justice Department announced that it agrees with Masterpiece Cakeshop, arguing that it would create an "intrusion" on the First Amendment "where a public accommodations law compels someone to create expression for a particular person or entity and to participate, literally or figuratively, in a ceremony or other expressive event."
"Forcing Phillips to create expression for and participate in a ceremony that violates his sincerely held religious beliefs invades his First Amendment rights," the Justice Department lawyers wrote.
In July 2012, Charlie Craig and David Mullins attempted to order a wedding cake from Masterpiece Cakeshop in Lakewood, Colorado, but owner Jack Phillips declined, saying that it would violate his religious beliefs.

A bit of good news.
This is the beginning of the end of accommodation laws. There usefulness, if there ever was any, is over. The internet and social media have made such laws obsolete. Such laws are only abused to overthrow other civil rights in the modern era.

There are people who will forgive Trump for supporting an elimination of the debt ceiling and the legalization of illegals...because his DOJ is supporting this baker.
Trump has learned very, very quickly from the GOPe just how dumb Republican voters are.

This Trump supporter is completely dismayed. Trump is making some decisions that do not comport with his previous rhetoric.
I am saying that the Christian promotion of chastity (which successfully denies homosexuals many sexual conquests) has far more to do with homosexual hatred of Christians than any feeling condemned by Christians.
And I am saying that when they are in groups of like kind they tend to harp about chaste people bitterly. Like the tribe of Benjamin, they deem being denied sexual gratification a great offense.

Patriots, noting that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect so-called LGBT rights like Founding States did with the rights expressly protected by the Bill of Rights and other constitutionally enumerated protections, LGBT rights wrongly being legislated from the bench by pro-LGBT activist judges imo, please consider the following question.
Whats worse, misguided, low-information, pro-LGBT state officials who violate Section 1 of the 14th Amendment (14A) by using politically correct, constitutionally unprotected LGBT rights to trump enumerated rights like 1st Amendment protected religious expression and free speech rights?
14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Or is it worse that the referenced Colorado baker has probably never been taught about 14A, and consequently cannot use it to defend himself from the unconstitutional abridgment of his enumerated rights by the state?
In fact, patriots who value their constitutionally enumerated protections should note that Acts 22:25-29 indicates that Paul claimed his protections as a Roman citizen to save himself from being flogged.
And whats arguably worse than the states violating 14A, and citizens who have never been taught their constitutional protections, is this imo. Although Congress has the 14A power to make laws to strengthen citizens rights against abridgment by the states, during the lawless Obama Administration the worthless, RINO-controlled, pro-LGBT Congress wrongly remained silent while misguided, pro-LGBT states unconstitutionally punished citizens for expressing their faith.
Next, consider that although Trump is accomplishing a LOT as president, it remains that since the uniparty Congress that lets states get away with abridging constitutionally enumerated rights wants to get rid of him, his first two years in office are arguably for practice.
That being said ...

Since corrupt Congress is the biggest part of the sewer (imo) that Trump wants to drain, it is actually up to patriots to drain the sewer in the 2018 elections, patriots supporting Trump by electing as many new members of Congress as they can who will support Trump.
In the meanwhile, patriots need to make sure that there are plenty of Trump-supporting candidates on the primary ballots.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal governments powers.
Patriots also need to make sure that candidates are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal governments limited powers listed here.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]." Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Also, candidates need to commit to making and enforcing 14th Amendment-related laws to prosecute misguided state officials who use state powers to abridge constitutionally enumerated protections, 1st Amendment-protected religious expression and free speech for example, such actions prohibited by Section 1 of the 14A shown above.
