Evolutionists Tripping Over Human Tracks on Crete

Evolutionists Tripping Over Human Tracks on Crete These can’t be hominid tracks. They are far too early! Well, then, who made them?

Per Ahlberg and his friends publishing in the Proceedings of the Geologists’ Association have gotten their field of paleoanthropology in hot water. Writing in The Conversation, Ahlberg, from the University of Uppsala, says, “Our controversial footprint discovery suggests human-like creatures may have roamed Crete nearly 6m years ago.” Six million years? That’s way back before humans were supposed to have evolved. This not only throws the evolutionary timeline out of whack, it threatens the “out of Africa” hypothesis and suggests (to evolutionists) that humans evolved in Europe.

Conclusion first. Examine evidence second.

The Theory cannot and will not be challenged. Uncomfortable evidence will be ignored, disavowed, or squeezed into the existing theory.

THis article demonstrated that the Creative Science bunch can read ANYTHING and come up with totally ridiculous conclusions.

The data indicates that an earlier HOMINID was walking around on Crete a lot earlier than expected. But the Crete of that period was attached to north Africa and the Levant. Some anthropologist believe bipedalism arose separately several times in the Primate line. And the evolution of Hominids, as recent genetic studies have indicated, is far more complex than earlier thought.

And, yes, I believe in God and the Bible. And NO, there is no conflict between that and evolution.

Blows away the 6,000 year-old Earth story, too.

We're using our God-given intelligence to reasonably examine God's creation to make sense of what we see, and these twits contribute nothing but twist anything they can into "see? 10,000 years max!" Just look up, and it's pretty obvious that what we see can't possibly fit into 10,000 years. We don't know everything, that's why we're trying to make sense of it. "The heavens attest to God's glory!" indeed they do, and in doing so make clear God did a whole lot more than "just spoke".

OK, so some hominid made tracks a long time ago. Pretty clear those weren't "human" tracks.

Amen.

2 Peter 3:8- But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Written at a time when millions or billions would be incomprehensible to the target audience. His days are whatever He chooses them to be. He set it spinning, adjusted it, and maintains it according to His will.

We’re eventually going to discover that there are significant flaws or errors in how we date these ancient fossils and discoveries.

I’m not saying the earth is only 6,000 years old, I’m just saying conclusively dating anything as X millions of years old is suspect.

Clearly, this is the evidence we have been waiting for.

We know can firmly state, with scientific backing, that....

Time travel is real.

I've been arguing against carbon dating and other methods of determining when something happened/how old something is for as long as I can remember. Thank you! There's just no way we're smart enough/have the right technology or any way of confirming that something is x thousands of years old much less x millions.

I also agree with a poster above that evolution and the Bible are NOT incompatible. The Bible tells us quite clearly that one day in our eyes can be a thousand years (or more...) in God's eyes.

We really have no idea how old the earth is, how old dinosaurs really were (they were called Behemoth's in the Bible) and to say we can definitively say anything in regards to the age of the earth and how it all works together is the height of arrogance IMO.

We're just not that smart. Well, at least I know I'm not.

Crete? I heard that a biblical scholar said that Crete could be the Garden of Eden...who knows...I’m not an expert on it, but it is interesting...

If you travel at the speed of light for a few days, and then return,
and find the friends you left behind have aged 50 years, how much
“real” time has passed?

It depends on the point of view — a few days or a few decades.

Einstein showed that time is not a constant. And that gravity affects time.

The “big bang” theory would suggest that time was massively distorted at the moment of the creation — so that matter proceeded across billions of light years but in a trillioneth of a trillioneth of a second.

So how much time passed — billions of years, or a tiny fraction of a second?

And how much time for the atoms to form into elements, and the elements into planets, etc? Hours? or billions of years? It depends...

“I heard that a biblical scholar said that Crete could be the Garden of Eden.”

Go east a bit to Israel. That’s where everything happens — creation, redemption, and the second coming. Fall and redemption in the garden,
thorns replaced with a crown of thorns, a temple with a garden motif on its curtains and the presence of God, which is forbidden to men and guarded by cherubim, etc. etc.

I’d of thought the 6 mil years ago date would give creationists more of a problem than it presents to the theory of evolution which adjusts their thinking to fit the observations. There is nothing here to say that the hominid making these tracks didn’t evolve from earlier numbers of its species. Of course, there is also nothing to place it as our direct ancestor or to rule that out. We need more observations as always.

Was death the consequence of sin, as Scripture seems to say pretty plainly?

Or did God use cycles of death to bring about the variety of creatures we see today?

Also, was Adam created with the appearance of age?
