After Nurse Assault, Salt Lake City Makes the Bleeding Worse

By now, most people probably have seen the disturbing video of a Salt Lake City Cop manhandling and arresting a University of Utah nurse for doing her job, following protocol, and protecting an unconscious patient in her care. The chaotic scene can be viewed here.

In brief, Detective Jeff Payne demanded access to an unconscious accident victim who was suspected of no wrongdoing in order to draw the man’s blood for the police investigation. Nurse Alex Wubbels cited hospital policy and an apparent agreement with the police department that allows a blood draw only with patient consent, or a warrant, or if the patient is under arrest. As none of those elements were present, she declined. Payne pressed the issue and radioed a desk lieutenant who instructed Payne to arrest Wubbles if she did not comply. Wubbles had a hospital lawyer on a cell phone speaker, who advised Payne he was “making a huge mistake.” Payne lost patience and his cool, yelled “We’re done here. You’re under arrest!” and charged and grabbed Wubbels, handcuffed her, and pushed her out the door toward his vehicle while she screamed “Help! I’ve done nothing wrong! This is crazy!”

The SLC police desperately wanted to find ANYTHING to use to bring charges against the VICTIM of a police chase that went bad. This is because if they could find a way to press charges against the man then they’d have a bargaining chip to use to EXTORT him into agreeing not to sue them.

That’s what this was all about right from the beginning.

The SLC Police were involved in a CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY to frame an INNOCENT MAN so they could avoid a lawsuit.

And when that vicious prick with a badge called Payne didn’t get his way he blew up like the out-of-control bully and thug that he is and he beat up on a nurse.

I’m angry because none of the other cops present did anything to stop him. Had that bastard pulled out his gun and shot the nurse the other cops would have just watched because that’s what they do.

I’m sorry but to me city police departments anymore are unaccountable gangs of armed thugs and bullies who terrorize people with almost no accountability.

When needs to happen in SLC is for the chief and his management team to be FIRED and for the elected and accountable Sheriff to take over the department and clean out the thugs and bullies and restore order.

The police department, the city, and the mayor will blow it off as a “misunderstanding” and the cop acted accordingly to cop procedures, etc etc etc.

Speaking of civil rights and lawyers.

Does anyone know if the cops got their blood sample that day without a warrant.

If they did I would think that there would be another lawsuit coming over that civil rights violation.

And really in this day and age I am surprised that this ever came up. I would think that for a cop (particularly a detective) that it would be a no brainer that you can’t draw blood without consent or a warrant.

DUI law made that common knowledge years ago.

Seemed like there was a whole lot of NOT rockin’ the boat. Was the out of control guy senior on scene? Even if he was, why didn’t one of the other LEOs intervene? I would have if the policy that was stated was actually the policy. Done it before during my career to superiors when they were wrong. They didn’t like it but, too bad.

This terrible event will be drug out so long that the outrage will die and the cop will get of with a hand slap, the nurse will be compensated and the whole thing forgotten. AGAIN.

Does anyone else remember the cops in SLC shooting a guy in a WalMart parking lot only a few years ago? Some snowflake thought he was planting bomb, called the cops, the guy went out of the store and the cops shot him as I recall. I also remember he was a veteran.

Instead of making or planting a bomb he was doing what I often do, trial fitting something to make sure it would work before he bought it.

I see that that illegal cop assassination has been swept under the rug also.

Placed on leave? Hell, they should both be fired and charged.

The hospital’s “policy” isn’t just a policy: it’s the Fourth Amendment!

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

William Gray, the victim in the crash, has a right to BE SECURE IN HIS PERSON. That means that jacktard violent cops don’t have the right to steal his blood without a warrant.

The cops are now arguing that they needed Gray’s blood to prove that he wasn’t doing anything wrong. Yet they already have indisputable video evidence that Gray wasn’t doing anything wrong so what they needed was proof that he had done something they could charge him with. This is almost a standard thing with cops these days when they do something wrong is they try to find a way to blame the victim.

Fortunately Nurse Wubbels and her hospital place a higher value on the Fourth Amendment than do the criminals with badges who staff the SLCPD.

“Most hospitals are not heavily staffed with nurses these days. I wonder how many lives were endangered by the illegal conduct of these cops. Or should I say, pigs”

Just add to the list..

1. Shoot family dogs
2. Shoot man running away in back for minor traffic stop
3.Shoot man for trying to display ccw
4. Shoot man because he approached his own car
5. Shoot man...mistaken identity
6.Shoot family and dog wrong SWAT address
7.Rough up and arrest innocent nurse
8,9,10…...

“That nurse is going to get a big payday, and so are a lot of lawyers.

SLC taxpayers ... not so much.”

The mayor is a lesbian and most of the SLC taxpayers who put her in office are liberals. So no sympathy for them.

I’ve known good cops and bad cops. Unfortunately, the good ones usually will cover up for the bad ones. Did you not see the uniformed tub of lard standing around doing nothing to defend the nurse? You have a better label than ‘pig’ for the folks involved in that incident?

I think I heard on the news that she isn't going to press charges.

Can't say as I fault her for that. Getting pulled over on any pretext every time you leave the house can get very wearing...
