So he says he is an “immigrant who committed a minor criminal act”. He wants us to believe that he got a year for his first drunk driving conviction. I used to hire work release prisoners for our family lumber mill business. The first thing that I learned is that they all lie about what they were jailed for. Not one of them ever gave me an accurate description of what their crime was.
My best guess is that this guy had either been convicted of drunk driving multiple times or driving drunk was just one of the offenses that he was convicted of. Either way it sounds like he doesn’t want to go back to prison and maybe he has been on the straight and narrow since because of it. He should probably be thanking Sherriff Hoe for that.
If more jails were like this, maybe people would think twice before committing crime. Besides, as someone pointed out, if it’s good enough for our troops in the desert field, then criminals have no right to expect better. Unless your name is Bergdahl, and decide it wasn’t what you thought it would be. TOUGH! Man up, wimp!
The quick switch away from Russian Collusion to Evil Statues and now on to the way-off-to-the-side issue of The Infamous Pardon...
It’s got me wondering...
I mean, I’m just thinking out loud here...
Pardon me for jumping too quickly to conclusions...
Is it possible there was no Russian Collusion at all?
Sorry for the typo H is right next to J.
I like Arpaio and support his desired results... but anyone can take things too far. Obviously, the inmate has reasons to lie, but we should be open to the possibility that he is telling the truth, and look into it. Blindly following anyone is rarely a good idea. If the conditions were cruel and unusual, or inhumane (by Conservative standards, not by Snowflake standards), then something should be done.
This was posted already this morning.
I hate newspapers too
That goes double for “reporters”.
> and might NOT be telling the whole truth about the situation ,
The whole article seems like one big exaggeration. One example, from the article: “The only food allowed for those of us in the work furlough program was the food in the vending machines, which was grossly overpriced.”
***
That doesn’t even make sense. So there was no other food available?
In prisons with strict regimens I think there’s less likelihood that some of the nastier aspects of prison life will occur, such as prison rape and violence.
My thoughts exactly.
I don’t believe a word of this. MCSOs public statement about this was that they are making sure all the prisoners were well hydrated (and the deputies were dressed much hotter). Sure, that’s a he said she said, but there’s no way any sane person would think they could get away with not giving water, or food, to people in custody.
You’re damn right I did, you loincloth draped spear bearing savage lol.
Illegal? If He is maybe he shouldn’t have entered illegally.
Our soldiers were living in these EXACT same conditions in the middle east. No air conditioning, no heat. They had some amenities like phones and newspapers but they were not in prison. This buttercup needs to suck it up!
Anyone who read the original FR post for this WaPo garbage already knows that the guy who wrote the op-ed piece is lying about his background. Someone posted a reader comment right on the WaPo website with a link to the court record for his criminal conviction — which was NOT for a simple DUI.
I’m sure they know and are running with it anyway and lying by omission because it fits the narrative and furthers the agenda. The issue is never the issue, the issue is always the revolution.
I agree he shouldn’t just be free, he should be crowned king of Arizona for his service.
Wow, I wish every jail was like that. Maybe then we wouldn’t be constantly reading about punks with a “long rap sheet” arrested for murder. And BTW, what is this guys legal status? He’s from Mexico and “moved to Arizona”. How? Legally? If he is still in the USA illegally, why hasn’t he been deported instead of whining to the Washington Compost?
