Washington Post holds this man up as a hero - a drunk driver who was in our country illegally. Disgusting. I hope he will be deported and permanently barred from reentry.

The conditions sound grim, but jail is not supposed to be a pic-nic.
This may be intended as Aversion Therapy, to keep recidivism rates low. If the methods were truly inhuman, we would have heard about numerous people dying or the prisoners being sued by relatives.
All that said, it’s a wonder that Sheriff Arpaio and his family have lived in the area and can still walk the streets unharmed. Perhaps he has round the clock protection, or had it.
I consider him a hero, but those methods will provide you with a lot of enemies.
Should have sent him to Guantanamo, or a Mexican Prison.

I wonder if this whiny little beotch ever committed another crime, especially in Arpaio’s jurisdiction. Prison isn’t supposed to be fun, it is supposed to be punishment. If you are unwilling to pay the price, then don’t steal from people or commit acts of violence.
I find it very hard, if not impossible, to feel sorry for this sob. However, I do feel very sorry for an 85 year old man who did his level best for several decades to keep the citizens of his County safe from predators like this SOB. He was rewarded by vindictive, leftist president and attorney general with a criminal investigation and a conviction on made-up charges. That will forever stay in his good name, fate which he did not deserve. I cannot even begin to express how happy I am that Trump pardoned him. I’d love to see Dinesh D’Souza pardoned next, as he was another political victim of the Obama Just Us Department.
