The year I spent in Joe Arpaio’s tent jail was hell. He should never walk free.

If you can’t do the time don’t do the crime.

Sheriff Joe lost the last election to a more liberal opponent who has already closed tent city or promised to do so. The inmates are probably getting weekly mani-pedis now.

Funny, but no mention of why he was there.

Heck, sounds like Hohenfels Training Area’s tent city in 1966.

Shutting off our welfare state is more important than a physical wall.Couldn't agree MORE.
To: Hojczyk
IIRC, the guy was in jail for aggravated assault. A dwi does not get you a year in the slammer, aggravatef assault does. It’s a felony.
Wapo has no credibility whatsover.

Arpaeio was 86 at the time of the election and his age was why he lost.

That one might actually be true. Work furlough is something designed for the BENEFIT of the prisoners, so they don’t lose their jobs while doing their time (and here this male organ is complaining about it).
Let’s say evening check-in time is 9pm, maybe the non-furlough guys have already had their dinner and there’s none available. The guys with jobs may be expected to eat their meals while out for the day and be ready to rack out by check-in time.

Tell me, Francisco, after your ordeal how motivated were you to commit another crime in Maricopa County? Does this article even mention for what he was incarcerated? The majority of citizens in this country are law abiding and have little sympathy for those who are not. The Sheriff committed no crime and anyone convicted in a kangaroo court, the very definition of conviction without crime, should be first in line for pardon. So, please just go away and eat $#!+.

One example, from the article: The only food allowed for those of us in the work furlough program was the food in the vending machines, which was grossly overpriced. *** That doesnt even make sense. So there was no other food available? You're right - if there wasn't any food it would have been on the front page of the New York Times and Washington Post EVERY DAY. Liberals would see that as a gift and play it for everything it was worth.

I like Arpaio and support his desired results... but anyone can take things too far. Obviously, the inmate has reasons to lie, but we should be open to the possibility that he is telling the truth, and look into it. Blindly following anyone is rarely a good idea. If the conditions were cruel and unusual, or inhumane (by Conservative standards, not by Snowflake standards), then something should be done. LOL! Do you do stand-up comedy?

I was in the Navy from 85-89 and we spent 3 months anchored off the coast of Oman. The temperatures were the same, and we could not strip down to our underwear. We were allowed to cut our dungarees to below-the-knee and take off our blue shirts and stand watch in our t-shirts, but the hats, socks, boots, belts, guns, and gear remained. I lost 20 lbs (and looked great, I don't mind telling you.)
At night it only dropped to 70 but we became acclimated so we shivered through our watches, bundled in whatever we could find. And my only "crime" was enlisting.
So yeah, screw this guy. And by the way, the guards were undoubtedly suffering through much of the same.

That was my first reaction, too, but check my #68. Still feel that way about the water.
