Modern humans (Homo sapiens sapiens) are not just incrementally superior to any other hominid or animal; we’re qualitatively different, both as the only known technologically-intelligent species and by virtue of dozens of unique abilities.
It is not a claim but a demonstrable fact that anatomically modern humans (Homo sapiens sapiens) are vastly superior to every other form of life and, for whatever reason, all the genetic mutations that make us unique and confer over 40 traits and behaviors that result in evolutionary advantages over every other animal, occurred within a short period of time, within just one genus, and nowhere else.

Let’s see, first thing this morning I had two cat puddles to clean up. It’s a dominance issue. I let them in/out and fed them, all before taking care of my own needs. I wonder who is superior to whom.

Yes! Humans are vastly more intelligent, and in some cases, vastly more stupid. Humans are not just monkeys with a bigger brain. There is a qualitative difference. We are capable of abstraction and we can use symbols to represent those abstractions.
Discovering that elephants are more intelligent than we thought is a good thing, but it doesn’t change the fact that humans are immensely more intelligent.

The article presumes that, absent an external factor, breeding is random. But as soon as people understood how they reproduce, breeding was by design.

We have a soul. We also have a cerebral cortex and the ability to conceptualize and the only creature that builds tools.
