Sebastian Gorka is resigning his post as Deputy Assistant to President Trump, multiple sources familiar with the situation have told The Federalist.
In a blunt resignation letter, the national security and counterterrorism expert expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the Trump administration. [G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are for now ascendant within the White House, Gorka wrote. As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr. President, is from outside the Peoples House.
Gorkas letter expressed unhappiness with the direction the Trump administrations foreign policy has taken, as signaled by the presidents recent speech on Afghanistan:
Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will Make America Great Again, have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months. This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week
The fact that those who drafted and approved the speech removed any mention of Radical Islam or radical Islamic terrorism proves that a crucial element of your presidential campaign has been lost
Just as worrying, when discussing our future actions in the region, the speech listed operational objectives without ever defining the strategic victory conditions we are fighting for. This omission should seriously disturb any national security professional, and any American who is unsatisfied with the last 16 years of disastrous policy decisions which have led to thousands of Americans killed and trillions of taxpayer dollars spent in ways that have not brought security or victory.
During his time in the Trump administration, Gorka focused on issues such as countering the Muslim Brotherhood, the crisis in Qatar, drafting a new long-term national security strategy, and combatting Chinas economic warfare. Before coming to the White House, Gorka was an editor for national security affairs for Breitbart News, where he worked with Steve Bannon, who also recently departed the administration.
Gorkas tenure at the White House was marked by unusually vociferous attacks against him and his family by left-leaning media organizations and the Democratic Party. This includes personal attacks against his wife, mother, and son.
A source close to the White House said of his decision, This was more or less going to be a done deal when Bannon submitted his resignation. Not because he didnt have a protector, but because there is no point in having your life ruined every day if youre not going to get much accomplished. The same source said that what did change after Bannon left was that anti-Bannon factions began erecting bureaucratic road blocks to undermine Gorka internally.
The Forward has written dozens of attack pieces against Gorka, including several attempting to align him with Nazism. Most recently that publication retracted a story about his sons schoolwork. Gorka strenuously objected to allegations he had ties to Nazi groups in his familys home country of Hungary, where he had previously been involved in national politics. Even detractors eventually acknowledged the Nazi accusations were unfair smears.
In his letter, Gorka made clear that he believes in the promise of the Trump presidency despite being concerned about its present direction.
Your presidency will prove to be one of the most significant events in modern American politics. November the 8th was the result of decades during which the political and media elites felt that they knew better than the people who elect them into office. They do not, and the MAGA platform allowed their voices to be heard, he wrote, adding, Millions of people believe in, and have chosen, you and your vision of Making America Great Again. They will help eventually rebalance this temporary reality.

Mcmaster.
Thanks. It’s unusual-—ever-—for a subordinate to remain if his boss leaves. So when Bannon left, I didn’t think Seb could hold on.
Good thing Bannon did NOT offer me a deputy job as we discussed from time to time. I would have uprooted my whole life for 6 months!
Things are moving along, many ups and downs.
Unless someone has Spock's mind meld technique down from remote locations, knowing the how and why of President Trump's actions is speculation, and often on these pages it appears to be driven by the hatred/anger/frustration arising out of not getting one's way in every detail.
The man pulled off the most spectacular win in history, surrounded on all sides by literally billions of dollars worth of bad ads, innuendo, sheer lies, cheating, stealing, and outright criminal activity.
He does have a few brain cells, they do interact, and create heat, and an occasional thought.
I, for one, want to see this play itself out, and am not ready to throw him under the bus for an advisor's lateral move.
I have been thinking, based on Trump's taking on 'enemies' and losing allies, that someone is blackmailing him with some story, maybe based on a scandalous photo from his past.
I agree. Who better than Bannon and Gorka. CNN is ripe for a takeover. Who better than Breitbart. Now that is something I want to see.
I’m glad he wrote the letter exposing the globalist bastards.
she needs to get back to NY City and get the hell out of the White House
Well in spite of uber liberal Ivanka, Trump has put a stop to “transgenders” in the military. But he needs to order Mattis to tell everyone of them they have 72 hours to get their affairs in order then they’re civilians. This garbage about letting Cross-dresses stay in till their enlistment is over (which could be 4 years) is ridiculous. Trump said they could not serve in any capacity and that’s exactly what should happen.
Trump’s enemies dug for dirt on him for more than a year and a half. They couldn’t find any and thus had to hire fools to lie about him.
“Well in spite of uber liberal Ivanka, Trump has put a stop to transgenders in the military ...”
For now ... next Dem Pres will surely reverse
For answers to the Gorka resignation check out BRIETBART SUNDANCE today. I stopped reading yesterdays posts about Gorka leaving the administration because they were so uninformed and unreasoning. Pres Trump is not going to be run out of the White House. Personnel decisions are made daily and are based on particular reasons that are not necessarily shared beyond the need to know of those inquiring about them. I saw so much bias against the Trump daughter and son in law with no facts to support such a conclusion that it seems to be an agenda being pushed. Bannon and Gorka work together and they say they support Pres Trump however the circumstances of their resignations are portrayed by those who want to undermine Pres Trump. I am of the opinion that Gorka, who earlier said he was leaving at the end of summmer, was wise to go now. He proved his usefullness to the administration had run it’s course when he opted for publicity rather than a normal departure. Ego got the better of him. Pres Donald Trump soldiers on.

Good post.
That plan sounds plausible, Truth29. I can’t help but wonder if Melania or Don Jr. or Eric, someone with awareness, won’t clue him in. It’s just so upsetting to watch all that we worked and prayed for get so easily hammered.
“Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will Make America Great Again, have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months.”
I totally agree and pray that Trump has more principle than Schwarzenegger, because this sure looks like the start of the Arnold Abyss as governor and the death of the GOP in California.
There’s still leak after leak, but media doesn’t care now because the got their man in and it would be hard for Trump to remove Kelly now.
How many stories were there about Obama firing any general/ admiral who disagreed with him. All that’s left were Obama people.
I don’t trust Kelly at all. Since when does the chief of staff get to make the decision on what or who the President should see. The act like Trump needs a babysitter.
He should be making list of people and what they want to discuss & let Trump decide who he should see.
Sorry about that! I meant to ping LS, but forgot to do so - since your post was in response to his.
I’ll try again: “And, what has NEVER BEEN MENTIONED, AFAIK, Larry, is that ALL of the Flag/General officers currently serving are Flag/General officers promoted to their stars while the Establishment inflicted Ophonybama on us!!”
Perhaps, but McMaster was denied promotion for years under both Bush and Zero.
In fact VDH urged Bush when being awarded the Medal of Freedom to promote McM.
I can see Kelly being the Deep State's 25th Amendment go-to guy.
Agreed. Jared needs to go too.
