A Carl's Jr. owner was banned from his own kitchen after being caught on camera

Jack Webb, the co-franchisee of a Carl's Jr. in Alberta, Canada, was discovered to have committed multiple food safety violations while being filmed by in-store security cameras, CBC reported.

The first clip of 10 shared with CBC shows Webb almost elbow-deep in barbecue sauce. Webb is mixing the sauce with his bare hands, a clear violation of food safety measures, going so far as to refuse a spoon when a worker offers it to him.

Other clips show Webb mixing sauces and scooping them from one container to another with his bare hands. In one case, he uses a spatula that he pulls from a dirty dish pile and quickly wipes on a towel.

Webb was also caught on camera picking up a chicken tender that fell on the floor, putting it in the warming tray amongst the other freshly fried tenders. He additionally risked cross-contamination when he transferred chicken to the fryer without washing his hands after handling raw chicken.

There’s KFC just outside JBLM(Ft. Lewis/McCord) who’s bathroom looked like a bunch of car engines were dismantled in the sink (the ladies!!) - oil and dirt and gunk all over the place. I mentioned it to some kid behind the counter and just got a “meh” look. I left without picking up my order. No way I was going to eat anything from them.

I saw a recipe on the Travel Channel when they were reviewing fried chicken joints.

The chef fried up a batch of buttermilk chicken as you describe but before serving he took a sheet of oven baked thin lemon slices and turned them into a powder in a blender with salt, pepper and a few spices. Then he sprinkled it on the chicken when it was all hot and "vulnerable" as Emeril used to say. Man it looked awesome. I can only imagine the flavor with that lemon on it. I'll have to try that on my next batch of fried clucks.

One example of a thousand. Hundreds of food preparers have been caught spitting on food and not washing their hands after defecating. The fecal contaminants have made thousands of people sick. This is always the risk you take when eating out.

It isn’t restricted to fast food, trust me on that.

And, in most cases it is not the precooking steps that are the health risks, it is the post-cooked contaminants and raw food.

“I wonder if anyone here at FR wears gloves when fixing supper for their family?”

Up close and personal is pretty standard in most family situations. I won’t define “up close and personal” here.

Up close and personal should be shunned between customers and restaurant employees...unless, of course, it’s a “gentlemen’s club”.

Which Whataburger was that? The one on Lamar next to DPS?

A lot of years ago I applied for a manager position at Boston Markets, they invited me to spend a day working at a store to see how we fit. Of the things I observed that violated so many health standards the one that pushed me over the top and had me telling them thanks but no thanks after three hours was an employee mixing the marinating chicken by reaching into the tub up to his elbows to move them.

Jasper area is very beautiful, but you have to get away from the leftards, they are everywhere there.

I’m four hours north of there. We’re pretty right wing up here. I’m probably considers even abnormal for Alberta, I’m such a strong conservative alpha male type, the other alpha males even think I’m crazy heh.

Next time you folks come up this way, let me know and I’ll point you in the right direction. Places that will take your breath away, yet have zero hippies.
