If we erase evidence of who lost the Civil War where will we find evidence of who won the Civil War?
How will we know there were slaves?
Big Government and Crony Capitalists won the Civil War.
Well, first you will need to figure out when it ended, and then you'll need to figure out metrics for winning and losing.
A logical end date would be 1877. And it certainly looks like a Southern victory at that point.
I get your point, but the bigger point is that NO ONE is “innocent,” therefore eventually every statue must come down that no man may be better than another.
Ulysses Grant was a slaveowner.
Martin Luther King rejected homosexual marriage.
Bill Clinton hung out with a Klansman.
Slavery? What slavery?
I never owned any slaves.
So them BLM thugs can take their claims for reparations and shove them up their Obama-holes.
I would argue that while hostilities and the fighting ended; the Civil War has not ever ended.
Reconstruction was just another phase of the War of Northern Aggression. Then various laws, policies and practices from Fedzilla has carried on the social, cultural and economic divides and here we are today - 150 plus years after the shooting ended - and we are still on the brink of picking up where Appomattox left off.
Both sides lost.
In no way did either side win.
The CSA surrendered but that is a peripheral argument to winning.
No territory was won or lost and in the end at least 650,000 were dead.
The demise of the racial whore business? Jesse? Al? et al
Unintended consequences. smile.
Is 1877 when Reconstruction ended and the slave states re-instituted slavery in the form of vagrantcy laws? And with prison-slave labor the Southern factory owners and Plantation owners became very wealthy very rapidly. FDR brought electricity to the south east during the 1930s and after the conclusion of WW2 a bunch of Great Lakes industries set up new branches in the South. So what exactly does 1877 mean to you?! Do you find the unjust vagrantcy laws to be attractive to you?!
You know, slavery is still rampant in Africa. Wouldn't you think that, instead of tearing down monument of stone and bronze, they would apply their energies to eradicating slavery were it STILL EXISTS??!! I guess that would be too much to ask. And it would require actual work from the posers who thrust their fist up in the air during the playing of the National Anthem.
Once the history of the Confederacy is gone the civil rights struggle is too.
Looks to me like we are about to fight it again.
A lengthy, horrifying article on modern day slavery.

.
November 6, 1860. Abraham Lincoln is elected president with anti-slavery support. Shortly thereafter, eleven southern, slave holding states secede from the United States to form the Confederate States of America. A war commences.
Janary 1, 1863. -- Lincoln frees the slaves.
April 9, 1865. -- U.S. General Grant accepts the surrender of the Confederate army from an unknown general.
April 14, 1865. -- President Lincoln is assassinated.
And erase all evidence that slavery was abolished.
