President Trump has signed off on sending an additional 4,000 troops to Afghanistan, ahead of his address to the nation Monday night, Fox News has learned.
Trump is set to unveil his strategy for Afghanistan, becoming the third commander-in-chief to attempt to stabilize the war-torn country and forge a victory in what is now America’s longest war.
The speech is scheduled for 9 p.m. EDT Monday. The president will deliver the nationally televised address to troops stationed at the Army's Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, located next to Arlington National Cemetery.

Sending more troops to what end? Is there going to be an increase in the intensity of fighting like what Mattis is doing to ISIS in Iraq (not allowing the enemy to flee the battle field - total annihilation)?
Most of the loss of life is on the Afghan side. Something like 5-6000 per year. We are advising, they are fighting and taking the casualties. They are also performing fairly well in this years fighting season. Hopefully they are reaching a turning point.

Our troops are not doing the fighting there.
There’s talk of private contractors being put in by the thousands in addition to the military.

This was dumped on President Trump by those who came before him starting with W Bush and Obama.
The Neocon crowd wants this war to drag on, the 21st Century Vietnam.
They gave President Trump bad options and I don’t agree with them.
But I am willing to support him if he can back on track to doing good things again.
His “Conservative” enemies are his worst and they snipe away about all the “Democrats” around him and what alternatives do they offer.
The same old stuff like the futile war in Afghanistan, whose tribes beat the British and Soviet empires.
Nuke the place and the war is won, but nuke the place and the Trump Haters can pin “War Criminal” on the President of the United States.

They will be ambushed and blown up by the guys in Afghan uniforms who are Taliban in disguise.

Probably to get enough firepower to bring it to a conclusion. That MOAB back in April did some serious damage to both ISIS and our fake Pakistani “allies” who were in Afghanistan protecting the enemy. Some unidentified commandos came in after the bomb and sorted out whatever was left.
Our extra troops may be as much a command role as combat. People likely have no idea about how many Muslim allies are doing heavy urban fighting for us in Mosul and Raqqa. No ISIS are taken prisoner.

Again these attacks are worse for Afghan soldiers. About 150 afghan soldiers were killed in an attack at Camp Sheehan earlier this summer. It is deadly serious there. National police are killed daily too, but they keep at it. They are fighting and dying for their country

More money thrown down the toilet in Afghanistan would go along way to getting our military back in shape and many American lives would be saved.

I saw that, and earlier on Fox was a report that McMaster wanted to send 50,000.
No one gives a fark about afghanies...no one gives a fark about muslims or their sh!thole countries.
We need to get out of there entirely and stop letting these SAVAGES into the country. It’s too late for Europe.
