therealdickgregory It is with enormous sadness that the Gregory family confirms that their father, comedic legend and civil rights activist Mr. Dick Gregory departed this earth tonight in Washington, DC. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and love and respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time. More details will be released over the next few days - Christian Gregory

Just to clarify, I wasn't agreeing that Gregory was too dumb or naive to know what Farrakhan was about. He definitely knew.
[He definitely knew]
Oh yes; he absolutely did. That’s how I read your post.
Looks like President Reagan stayed mute on the California GOP Senate primary when his daughter was running (must have been awkward for him, especially since she openly opposed him on several conservative policies), but the President’s brother, Neil Reagan, openly endorsed and campaigned for Pete Wilson (who was ALSO pro-abortion and likely to the LEFT of Maureen)

Looks like it was a four way race between Maureen Reagan, Pete Wilson (the eventually “winner”), uber-RINO Pete McCloskey, and the only thing remotely resembling a conservative on the ballot, namely Barry Goldwater Jr.
It sounds like Maureen Reagan did very poorly with voters and pretty much only had “my daddy went to the White House” going for her, ala Liz Cheney’s ill-fated Senate bid.
Reminds me a bit when Rick Perry was the “most conservative” choice only because his opposition was RAT Congressman Chris Bell, loose cannon Kinky Friedman, and Scott McClellan’s mommy.
Bleh.
#91. Re the color photo of the Million Man March. I’m the white guy in the middle of it.
Oh, never mind!
But I was there. I have my white and black Million Man March button to prove it, plus I had to listen to that insane “Mother Ship” speech of Louis Farrakhan. I heeded the admonition from the movie “The Thing” to “Look to the skies” but I didn’t see any mother ship. Did see some “muthers” but no ship.
Forgot to ping you to #89.
did you have the proper protective eyewear when you looked to the skies for the mothership?

Dr. Ben Spock was his running mate in at least one state. Speaks volumes about the generation(s) he impacted.
Maybe his comedy was like Andy Kauffman. It was in the “act”, maybe Dick Gregory was putting everybody on and he was laughing on the inside that no matter what gibberish he spouted about the moon landing being fake, or Michael Jackson being set up, or the Gentle Giant, or toxic soup, etc his audiences ate it up and nodding in agreement.
Yeah, he was an odd bird, even the leftists thought he was odd. But this is why I will always love him.
Thanks.
