Looks like President Reagan stayed mute on the California GOP Senate primary when his daughter was running (must have been awkward for him, especially since she openly opposed him on several conservative policies), but the President’s brother, Neil Reagan, openly endorsed and campaigned for Pete Wilson (who was ALSO pro-abortion and likely to the LEFT of Maureen)

Looks like it was a four way race between Maureen Reagan, Pete Wilson (the eventually “winner”), uber-RINO Pete McCloskey, and the only thing remotely resembling a conservative on the ballot, namely Barry Goldwater Jr.
It sounds like Maureen Reagan did very poorly with voters and pretty much only had “my daddy went to the White House” going for her, ala Liz Cheney’s ill-fated Senate bid.
Reminds me a bit when Rick Perry was the “most conservative” choice only because his opposition was RAT Congressman Chris Bell, loose cannon Kinky Friedman, and Scott McClellan’s mommy.
Bleh.
Forgot to ping you to #89.
