tand clear of the dead bodies.
Leaking corpses of people killed by subway trains are often brought to employee lunch rooms and other break areas inside stations, disgusted union officials and sources said on Monday.
In an effort to restore service quickly, bodies are simply carted off to whatever room happens to be nearest, a union source told The Post.
If a lunch room is the nearest, theyll put it in the lunch room, the source said.
And thats enough to make transit workers lose their lunch.
Transit does not care about morale, Taytana A. Klimenko railed on a private Facebook group conversation for station agents, obtained by The Post. They do not invest in psychological welfare for their workers. I am surprised we do not have a high suicide rate we must have some strong workers. Very tough. Something the union should look to invest into?
Be a pro? Tommy McNally, a TWU safety inspector from Staten Island posted in the group. Station Agents walking over bodies in the bathroom? Uncovered bodies leaking fluids..be a pro this isnt Vietnam pal .be a pro and suck it up if you get hepatitis ? No, close the station, put the body in a bag, on the platform, wait for the morgue to take it then open the station.
Union officials said it takes at least two hours for a corpse to leave the station.
The police are forced [to] store the bodies in utility rooms and other subway rooms while waiting for Medical Examiners Office staff to arrive.

“Well, did he ever return, no, he never returned, and his fate is still unknown...”
MTA...some things never change.
Those are employees...................
Major yuck factor.
Maybe they should change the lunch rooms to “dead body storage rooms”, then employees won’t be so surprised at what they see if they choose to eat their lunches in the “dead body storage room”.
Do only the cooperative ones leave in two hours? What happens if a corpse doesn't want to leave?
Oh yes he Never Returned
Oh no he Never Returned
And his fate is still unlearned...
This happens a lot in New York city?
“Those are employees...................”
How is anyone expected to tell the difference between a leaking corpse and an MTA employee?
Well, when shift is over, the MTA employee goes home..........
Beat me to it.
LOL...I was going to post that now we know why he never returned.
Or, quite often, BEFORE the shift is over.....
The fare went up while he was on the train. Were they charging him to get off? And if so were they not just wasting space on a non-paying passenger that could be used for a paying passenger?
And why didn't he just get off at the end of the line and walk home? Did they have a 24/7 guard on him even when the train was not running?
That's how it works on the underground in London. I don't know about Boston.
Um, this sounds crazy to me.
Well, yeah, they're not exactly sprinting for the exits at that point, now are they?
I wondered why his wife didn’t pass him a coin purse along with the sandwich.
All that for just a nickel? There’s more to this story than what was sung..............I suspect he met some chick and decided to dump his overbearing wife.........Just saying
Well, they hanged Tom Duly you know....... right up I 81 in Grayson county
