FOX News reporter Doug McKelway attended the violent protests Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia.
McKelway told FOX News viewers the police pulled out of Lee Park after the violence started. The police told him, Were leaving. Its too dangerous.
Doug McKelway: We are now beginning to hear criticism bubble up on all sides of this event about the initial slow response by the police. When I got out of my car yesterday in Charlottesville about 10:30 in the morning you knew this was a bad scene and bad things were going to be happening because people were congregating at Lee Park and Emancipation Park wearing helmets, body armor, carrying big heavy sticks. Nobody was intent on peace here from either side. People were intent on causing havoc and causing damage. And even as wounded were being brought out of the park police were sitting idly by. I was standing off a cordoned off area where the police had set up as a staging area, the state police, and they said you can come in here this is a safe area. But when the tear gas started to fly, thrown by protesters, the police themselves began to evacuate then. I asked the guy who was in charge, Where you going? He said, Were leaving. Its too dangerous. They had a chance to nip this thing in the bud and they chose not to.

I doubt any of the protesters had guns. I think that the governor and police department are making excuses. I could be wrong but I haven’t seen any photos with rifles. If they were armed you would think the police would have broken it up allot faster. Libs must be in heaven that the car that hit people was driven by a Caucasian!

She teaches MIDDLE SCHOOL? Oh God help her students. She comes off completely unhinged every time she opens her mouth. Those poor innocent babies.
They get ripped without being anywhere near a weight pile
Savanna DNA
Plus one
Doodle isn’t a bad sort just a south basher and idealistically naive on what’s really happening
A big chunk of freeperdom
Pollyanna about race and culture
Nothing will wake these babies up short of a violence or their creed going down
Watching mine dismantled doesn’t affect yer typical Yankee scold
It just doesn’t yet
As Laura Ingraham said facile reasoning about the south and race is a major crippling point for neocons
Did she ever nail that one
You are all for dismantling the souths heritage....you and about 50 others here
You’ve been south bashing here for your whole stint
No wonder you equate us with Nazis

How about just being an American with all God-given rights that the U.S. Constitution guarantees are upheld and defended by those who swore an oath to do so?
In my opinion, it is the big picture and it is principle that matters. At the end of the day Americans can think or say just about anything they want to. It is when actions violate the law that government law enforcement steps in. There is no law against hateful thoughts or speech because of our individuals' right of free speech. As such, Trump was correct not to choose one violent group over the other AND to point out and condemn violent acts from all sides.
Contrary to the 'Good Ends Justify Bad Means' mantra that the Leftists and Fake News Media promote: There is no 'good' reason to be a violent thug. Individuals on both sides crossed the line when and if they became violent because they violated another individuals Constitutional rights; NOT because they violated some thought police state definition of 'hate'.
What should be self-evident, big picture, is that there are two diametrically opposed sides in this 'debate': The Leftist side: those that believe some speech can be prohibited and that some violence is justified VERSUS The American side: those that feel ALL speech should be allowed and violence is NEVER justified.
Trump never said “bigly” he says “big league” though
The entire event could have been caused by something that basic. What if I was surrounded on all sides by dangerous people breaking my windows open just to be able to grab me, the way a grizzly bear comes after a car of tourists. I would probably floor the gas too. I don’t know if that’s what really happened. I think we may never know for sure, since the outcome serves the political purposes of many. Another “Hands up, don’t shoot’ moment, written indelibly on history’s scoreboard.
That was not a choice I was given by the poster in question. His demand was that I support one side or the other. I can't support either one, though I agree that both had a right to demonstrate.
Point out one time where I ever equated you with Nazis. While you're at it point out where I ever supported the removal of any of the rebel statues in Virginia or New Orleans or Tennessee or any other southern state.
Yes, actually they do. Just as much as the AntiFa types.
"I dont think we gave them that right during WWII"
Declared war, different rules.
In prison they get health care, three hots per day and a bed to sleep in. They get a gym membership where they don’t pay a dime and get to work out for hours per day. I have watched some shows on TV that show the prison yards and the weight equipment some of those have and they look as good as some college football programs. That is the gang plan. While doing your time you must buff up so when you come out on the streets again, you are ready to go to war again. Most of these guys didn’t have a bed to sleep in or decent food to eat, but in prison it is like a holiday. They only have to do the time. 4 to 6 years for robbery, rape, assault, and stuff like that. Even small drug transactions are out in 3 to 5 years now. Only the huge drug case get more than a few years. Most of these guys are 18 to 40, so they have a lot of years to still do their crimes when they get out. But come out in better physical shape than when they went in. All at the expense of the tax payers. Nothing like buffing up, feeding, and training the criminals to have them ready for the streets upon release. Hurray for Amer-rica-ka.
What about the perch above yours?
