CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement Saturday indicating a federal investigation has been opened into the events surrounding the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sessions, who had already condemned the violence and “any message of hate and intolerance” as events were unfolding, delivered the following statement as the dust settled in the home of the University of Virginia:
The violence and deaths in Charlottesville strike at the heart of American law and justice. When such actions arise from racial bigotry and hatred, they betray our core values and cannot be tolerated. I have talked with FBI Director Chris Wray, FBI agents on the scene, and law enforcement officials for the state of Virginia. The FBI has been supporting state and local authorities throughout the day. U.S. Attorney Rick Mountcastle has commenced a federal investigation and will have the full support of the Department of Justice. Justice will prevail.

Time will tell, but I’m not going all doom and gloom before the investigation even begins.
Someone help me with this. What federal law was broken that allows the feds to step into this pile? This is a city issue, followed by a state issue. Unless McAwful asks for federal help, where does the fed have the authority to jump in? Realizing that whatever the Trump administration does will be wrong, why does Sessions need to interdict this issue?
Well, well!!! Sessions CAN do things quickly if he wants to!! This anger me to no end... he won’t do squat on the things that are really important and then does an “’obama’” on yesterday!!
It could have waited a week, doncha’ think? And get hillary and obama and their minions investigated??!!!!!!! and in the courts!!

This is how we “study” it as Trump said. Charlottesville authorities are in big trouble because of how they handled the rally and counterprotests.
Genuine Nationalists do not preach hate of any racial group. Preaching hate based on race is anti-American and anti God.
“No one shot the damn helicopter down so why do we keep multiplying the deaths!?”
I believe their point of view is had there not been a “white supremacist” rally the helicopter would not have been there and therefore not have crashed.
Thus the “white supremacists” caused the crash.
Is Jeff trying to get ahead of the NTSB/FAA suggesting maybe the chopper crash wasn’t exactly an accident?

I can save you fellas some time. Some guy in a car deliberately ran down protestors, killing one and severely injuring several others. Have a trial, make sure you have the correct individual responsible and then execute him for premeditated murder. Then, go out and warn everyone else that all of the violence is not going to be tolerated (severe punishment like 10 years of hard labor listening to speeches of whichever political candidate they hate) and if anyone kills someone, they are going to be executed. It will save you millions of dollars AND hours of time.

The DoJ has AFAIK not had even one cleansing purge, except for some self resignations.
Sessions appointed (and the Senate quickly approved) the Swamp Critter, RosenKrantz, as his assistant.
I’m sure the totally Left-Wing Civil Rights Division has not been touched.
Sessions will not be doing the investigating, the DoJ Swamp Creatures will be.
Be realistic; They won’t be doing squat to investigate any one to the left of Clarence Thomas.

ACLU is suing Charlottesville for violating the first and fourteenth amendment rights of Unite the Right. That might be the angle the DOJ investigation takes, Trump said we were going to “study” it. It won’t be a study like one Obama or Hillary would do. Rest assured of that.

I’ve turned anti Sessions because he could have already had hillary and obama and their minions under investigation... “under study”... and he’s been snail slow. On yesterday, he was on it the next day!!
I read the link from post2 and if there is any... ANY... part of our government anywhere in our United States, that is not corrupt... show it to me! They are run by corrupt mayors, teachers, elected gov persons in depts... the police can’t do justice for a mayor who wants to see people get killed... and the National Guard is perfectly capable of controlling any riot... but not if they are sitting on the sidelines...
makes NO sense .. none of this does!! And Sessions investigating it will do not much if the corrupt persons are still in charge of everything from soup to nuts!!.. they control what goes in and what goes out.. control is the defining word!

In a Federal investigation like this, the local police department often has the most legal exposure.
Funny how some investigations get launched immediately while others never seem to happen. Jus sayin...
