Joy Reid doesn’t brook much dissent on her own MSNBC show, regularly shutting down, as here, here and here, conservatives who have the temerity to disagree with her. Fortunately, when Rich Lowry of the National Review took on the Reid this morning, it happened on Meet the Press, where Reid was a fellow panelist rather than host.
The topic was the violence between neo-Nazi/white nationalists and Antifa, in which numerous people were injured and one woman killed. President Trump has come under withering media and political attack for a statement condemning violence “on many sides.”
Lowry made the point that the so-called “anti-fascists” in Charlottesville also engaged in violence, and the violence was not one-sided, as the videos show. Reid refused to admit that there was violence on both sides, claiming “there was certainly not.”

Lowry was lucky he wasn’t on Reid’s show when he contradicted her. He probably would have been booted off.

What happened in Charlottesville, VA on Saturday should surprise no one. This was an inevitable outcome of this country’s lack of anything resembling an independent national news media. If anything, it’s surprising it took this long for such a tragedy to happen.
For two years now, leftist agitators funded by George Soros-supported groups have been violently assaulting supporters of Donald Trump without a single word of objection or condemnation from any leader of the Democratic Party. Not a word.
Worse, none of these “leaders” have been asked by anyone with any major national news outlet why they stand silently by as supporters of their political party engage in increasingly vile and violent protest actions.
Not a single Democrat politician has been questioned by any “journalist” why they not only refuse to condemn such actions, but tacitly endorse them by proclaiming themselves to be participants in the “resistance”.
Not a single “journalist” has asked any Democrat why they refuse to even condemn the rise of a neo-fascist group that calls itself “Antifa”, and which pays masked thugs to burn buildings, attack law enforcement officers and beat up anyone who disagrees with them.

The Charlottesville police chief and mayor let the Blac Bloc and communists run around assaulting people (how many arrests BEFORE speed racer powered up the Mach 5?), then cry crocodile tears when commies go flying through the air like bowling pins.

We all saw the videos. What Trump said is absolutely true, so why the outrage at his statement? Reason: because he said it. Doesn't matter whether it's true or not. The MSM agenda is to damage Trump. Does the MSM really think we can't see through this bias?
No worries. Media has been screaming about Trump being a racist for years. Won’t work. Not now. Not ever.

All Americans have the right to peacefully assemble under the Constitution. How, when and where are dependent on local government regulations.
The local Charlottesville Government is totally responsible for the violence, deaths and failure to manage the exercise of civil rights of each group equally under the Constitution.
The local government failed to govern, they failed to lead and they failed to understand their duty under the law. That was their greatest mistake.
The group was protesting the removal of a Confederate General’s statue. The group got their permit to gather & protest legally.
Then the mayor revoked the permit, illegally. Surprisingly, the ACLU had it reinstated.
I wonder if Antifa, BLM had a permits? Who told them about the protest? A city does not have to issue permits all on the same day. What were the City officials thinking? Such incompetence.
Factions from all groups were bussed in. Makes me wonder if this was a staged event.
The situation was solely the failure of the state & local government! I hear the governor told the police to stand down. Democrat political drama gone bad.

Agree. Every time the Left Press reports such a one-sided viewpoint, I can’t help but think ‘here come more intelligent people over to our side’.
