All Americans have the right to peacefully assemble under the Constitution. How, when and where are dependent on local government regulations.
The local Charlottesville Government is totally responsible for the violence, deaths and failure to manage the exercise of civil rights of each group equally under the Constitution.
The local government failed to govern, they failed to lead and they failed to understand their duty under the law. That was their greatest mistake.
The group was protesting the removal of a Confederate General’s statue. The group got their permit to gather & protest legally.
Then the mayor revoked the permit, illegally. Surprisingly, the ACLU had it reinstated.
I wonder if Antifa, BLM had a permits? Who told them about the protest? A city does not have to issue permits all on the same day. What were the City officials thinking? Such incompetence.
Factions from all groups were bussed in. Makes me wonder if this was a staged event.
The situation was solely the failure of the state & local government! I hear the governor told the police to stand down. Democrat political drama gone bad.

To me it seemed that McCauliff was speaking from a well-prepared script as if he had been an attendee at Soros’ planning meetings when the violence was coordinated. His outrage was too scripted and insincere. He needs to take some acting classes before the next time.
You shouldn’t need a “permit” to protest. PERIOD.
McAuliffe is definitely NOT presidential material.
