Virginia Law Enforcement Reveal Identity of Suspect in Deadly Charlottesville Car Crash

Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail Superintendent Martin Kumer identified the suspect behind the deadly Charlottesville Car Crash to the Washington Post.

The suspect is 20-year-old James Alex Fields of Ohio.

The mayor openly stated that he didn't want the Unite The Right protesters there.

After they trespassed on UVa property during their "torch" demonstration, the city of Charlottesville could have revoked the Unite To Right permit on the grounds that they were engaging in illegal activity.

They blew their opportunity, allowed Antifa to counterprotest, and somebody died.

Sounds like fertile grounds for a lawsuit against the city.

He's out of his home state of Maumee, Ohio ta boot. ...charged with one count of second-degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding and one count of hit and run attended failure to stop with injury, is not going to be easy to overcome.

Tech reporter for The Hill​ Taylor Lorenz reports that police believe the suspect didn’t intentionally mow down protesters out of malice intent. Lorenz reports that authorities believe that the suspect acted out of fear as protesters swarmed the vehicle, some allegedly acting violent.

Having viewed the incident from multiple angles, I would guess that due to the crowd in the street, he couldn't see the cars in front of him.

Other than that, I'm going to refrain from opinionating. Something doesn't smell right.
