Drudge:"CHINA WARNS AMERICA: DON'T GO FIRST"
BEIJING (Reuters) - If North Korea launches an attack that threatens the United States then China should stay neutral, but if the United States attacks first and tries to overthrow North Korea's government China will stop them, a Chinese state-run newspaper said on Friday.

I used the search and didn't get a hit.
Screw them. We should take orders from these idiots??. Screw them.
yeah - just start WW3 and kill millions because we can
The biggest concern I have as does anyone with vested interest in human life is those souls in South Korea.
They would not only be subjected to the horrors of conventional warfare as far as an artillery bombardment but also the human horror of being flooded with both refugees and the trained soldiers who will hide among them.
In fact, the refugee crisis is probably more frightening to China than any threat of nuclear fallout from missles the chia pet may attempt to launch.
Here is a good article on the matter:
War With North Korea Could Mean A Refugee Crisis No One Is Ready For
But what about merely aiming “near” Guam?
A lot of gray area, open to interpretation and misinterpretation.
Interesting that China is advocating peace in Korea and is rattling sabers with India and in the South China Sea.
Hell if the trajectory suggests it will be anywhere in the vicinity of Guam/Hawaii/West Coast......etc. first you shoot down the missile, then you lay waste to the northern half of the Korean Peninsula.
That constitutes an attack.
Good point. I've been hearing a lot of chatter on this issue and the question is always "How can you tell near, at or directly trajectory"?
I'd have to say that under the circumstances and statements, any launch is an intent to destroy an enemy target and should be treated as such.
Lay the cards on the table and make it clear that any launch will be destroyed immediately, and that the Norks better hope that the missile does not have a nuke attached. If so, they will be the first nation to effectively nuke themselves.
China? They are useless as a partner. This is their fault as much as anyone.
Regarding the Gray
If missiles are headed towards Guam. Those missiles become targets.
It can be argued that such a shot down missile might defuse the tension. Face was gained but the effort was shown to be ineffective.
China does not want a war with the US. They need the trade and the US dollars in their economy. They are also focused on India. If the PRC gets into it with India as well as in North Korea the PRC is in trouble
This statement will, I think, stop the Norks cold. They know they can’t expect help if they start anything.
China is saving face by not completely abandoning an ally and gets to say it isn’t backing down to US demands but still looks reasonable. This is a MAJOR change of policy from the PRC and a MAJOR win for the Trump administration.
It will also mean that the NORKS should stop with the threats because they don’t want to have their protector cut ties with them completely.
Flame away if you disagree I’ve got the asbestos monitor hooked up to the computer but I really think this is a huge win for Trump and will defuse the situation.
They are bluffing
So we should cooperate by allowing Guam to be NK’s test target? Let them tighten up their grouping for the next test salvo? In what world is that acceptable? How about we practice firing missiles right off the coast of Beijing?
Ultimately, NK is China’s “cat’s paw,” a cut-out for a future attack on the USA. Let’s say in a few years NK fires 40 missiles at the USA and ten get through and five cities are obliterated in mushroom clouds. The economy of the USA is totally wrecked in the aftermath. The era of the superpower USA is over. China rules all of Asia undisputed master.
So in retaliation we blow NK off the map. Who cares? China laughs, their NK “cat’s paw” strategy worked perfectly.
I’d tell China privately that any ICBM coming out of NK will be treated as an ICBM coming out of CHINA, period. The NK missiles say “Made In China” under the new NK paint job. Any attack from the NK “cats paw” is an attack by CHINA.
Only then will China move to curtail their puppet state NK.
The 1950 to 1954 Korean War is only in a ceasefire. The Communists are still at war with “The United Nations”. Even though the Commies are now in the UN. Nice way to nueter your enemy.
China has placed it’s self on the fence.
I do not advocate cooperation. The boast I read was that missiles would be fired toward guam.
Absent a first strike, I see no way to prevent an irrational nation from continuing to provoke us.
I also don’t know where our missiles are located but the South China Sea seems like a good place. Guam its self is another good place
They better be very small cities...because the largest tested nuke that the NORKS have is less than 10kt...smaller than Hiroshima and Nagasaki...and the only reason those cities looked like moonscapes is that both cities were built out of paper and sticks. They do NOT have a fusion (thermonuclear) weapon. Just fission (atomic).
I saw this headline on DRUDGE an hour ago and was under the impression that the statement came from China’s government, not a Chinese newspaper editor... One and the same, but the literal comparison does provide some level of comfort.
“Id tell China privately that any ICBM coming out of NK will be treated as an ICBM coming out of CHINA, period. The NK missiles say Made In China under the new NK paint job. Any attack from the NK cats paw is an attack by CHINA.”
How do know that wasn’t said and that message received by the PRC?
China’s response might have still been what they’ve just said.
Basically the PRC has just told N. Korea to back down.
We can’t know what will happen in 10 years. We also can’t know what is going on behind the scenes between the PRC and the DPRK. I’ve lived in China. I’ve talked to middle rank party apparatchiks there. They are not found of North Korea but feel sort of a weird Confucian responsibility for them.
N. Korea now knows that they can’t start a hot war and count on China’s help. That is a big step in the right direction. Combined with the PRC officially revising its history of the Korean war a couple of days ago to something that approaches the truth and telling N. Korea essentially, “You owe us, in fact, if it weren’t for us you’d not be there.”
I agree there is some gray area here. That can be clarified by having the PRC define what constitutes and attack by N. Korea. Bt, that is a better question to ask than “What will China do if.........?”
By allowing China to save face the situation is, at least for now defused and relations with the PRC are not fractured. Those are good things. Now we can work with India to defuse the situation between China and India.
This is a win. A big one for the Trump administration.
They set this maniac up and now tell us we can’t protect ourselves with a preemptive strike
But are kind enough to stay out of it if we are attacked
Trump ought to tell them if we are attacked we will also hold them responsible
