It was a good day! Didn’t do much and the weather is still good for the moment. I don’t think it reached 90 today. Going to get warmer every day, though, and I’m totally not looking forward to et edging closer to 100.
How is it there? Did your corn finally get some relief? I sure hope you get a good crop out of it for your tenant!

Glad it hasn’t gotten back into the triple digits again but it’s August. Ya know it will. LOL! It’ll get hotter here, too, though hopefully not THAT hot.
Today wasn’t too bad, I guess. 84 degrees while I was out but it felt hotter because it’s so muggy. We’ll hit upper 80s the next few days and rain chances are in the forecast every day for the next week.
We got some rain this afternoon but the corn doesn’t need it now. It’s done and the stalks are turning brown. Everything else needs it though.
From what we can see of the corn along the edges of the fields, it’ll be a bumper crop this year.

That’s awesome that it will be a bumper crop. Hope nothing happens to prevent it! Hope your muggy goes away soon. That can really get a person down fast!
Yep...it’s August and can be warm here till the end of October. sigh. LOL!

That was beautiful!
They showed a brief interview with Dolly Parton last night on Nashville news, talking about Glen’s passing. She said he was a great studio musician on top of everything else and could play any instrument. I didn’t know that included bagpipes.

I think things will be fine for the corn between now and harvest time. Dusty’s going to be a busy fella because all his fields - those he owns and those he rents - are gorgeous this year.
Muggy is a way of life here. LOL! We just deal with it best we can.

I guess you adjust. Staying under the AC is the best way I can think of.
I’m glad that he will do well, especially after the soybeans weren’t anything to write home about last year. :)

Staying in the A/C as much as possible is what I do. LOL! I can’t handle heat nowadays like I could when I was younger.
Hubby’s aunt Clara has a saying she repeats pretty often, one of the few things she still remembers. “You have to be a gambler to be a farmer.” Pretty much true since you never know how things will go each growing season.

LOL! Kinda hurts holding back, doesn’t it?
I got caught up in a good movie and didn’t notice how close it was.

Oh, I know. My grandfather and uncles were farmers/ranchers and some years were brutal.
I’m glad you said that about not being able to handle the heat any more. Not because I’m happy about it, but I was wondering why it depresses me now and seems so oppressive. It used to just make me hot and I stayed in. Now I dread it....nearly as much as I’ve dreaded Christmas when I had to work. LOL!

Yep, some years can be rough but we just hope the next year will be better. We’ve had more good years than bad ones, fortunately.
The summer heat doesn’t depress me so much. It just keeps me inside more than it used to. Heat and cold bother me more now than it did years ago. Guess it’s just something that comes with getting older. boohiss!
