As campuses around the country have simmered and erupted in polarized protests and debates in recent years, more are considering how they can help students navigate free expression – sometimes with a push from legislators.
This year Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and North Carolina have mandated campus free speech policies, and a handful of other states are considering such laws. Some schools have decided that First Amendment instruction should be included right from the start, during a time typically reserved for talk of meal plans and dorm rules.
“We needed to take the opportunity in orientation to simply educate students how free speech works at a public university,” says Daniel Carpenter, Purdue’s director of student success. “Among some, there was an expectation that the university would do things [that were] unrealistic about controlling speech, or impossible, or illegal.”
The recent disruption of conservative speakers on campuses from the University of California at Berkeley to Middlebury in Vermont is driving the appetite for the civics lessons. Administrators find themselves in the middle of a values tug-of-war, one that requires guidance to create safe environments where constitutional – and civil – rights are respected.

Well, as one of the idiot reporters who covered the protests in Dallas, I can confidently tell you they weren't entirely fake. There's more to it than just Soros' money. Those little Leftist sh!tbirds were, and are still excited about the chance to play Che Guevara in the streets of America.
Whether they even know what they're protesting about or not doesn't matter. Chances are, most of the homos, Commies and wanna-be Black Panthers who gathered at the American Airlines Center, at Dealey Plaza, at Main Street Garden Park and other locations, never saw a dime of Soros' money. They were there because it was an opportunity for adventure, and to scare conservative snowflakes, who sheepishly watch it all on TV, cowering while they pray someone else does something about it. So what do thrill seekers do when the thrill wears off? Take it another notch or two...or six.

With instant communication via cell phone and conditioning to form flash mobs it only take a few people of ill intent to cause trouble.
They don't even have to show up at the riot.
A few photos, a few statements and the right list of names and you can now shut the city down from the comfort of your couch in mommy's basement.
Common street crimes will still happen - my comments dealt with political protest. You know the kind Teddy - those with printed protest signs, or better - those with what appears to be ‘hand made’ signs with slogans dreamed up by professional but written out by teenagers for ten bucks an hour.

Or the “Protests” with matching silver baseball bats, buses bringing people to a small area and paper mache statues of Trump being carried by people who don't know the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

Ever wonder who pays for all that stuff? Or transports it to the site? Or makes the arrangements and pays the bills? It's harder than it looks. Surely you don't think any of that is spontaneous?
Maybe Soros has cut off funding, but my point is this: the rank and file Leftist snowflake protester isn't out there, beating people with bike locks and setting cars on fire because of Soros' money. They're out there because they have an opportunity to scare the beejeebers out of conservative snowflakes, and raise a little hell, while pushing their homo/Commie/anti-American agenda. This is what I saw firsthand before and after the election in Dallas.
Even if the well has dried up for the ringleaders, the rank and file aren't going anywhere. We on the Right have a tendency to diminish our enemies, and it never works out well for us. Don't underestimate the resolve of the Leftist snowflake thrill seekers to poke us in the eye, and worse when just poking us in the eye gets boring.
