West Virginia governor Jim Justice announced Thursday that he is switching his party registration to Republican, but ABC and NBC ignored the major news.
Justice’s announcement was teased throughout the day and ultimately came true during a Trump rally in Huntington, West Virginia.
“Today, I will tell you, with lots of prayers and lots of thinking, today I tell you as West Virginians, I can’t help you anymore being a Democrat governor,” Justice said. “So tomorrow, I will be changing my registration to Republican.”
Not only is it incredibly rare for a sitting governor to change their party affiliation, but the switch means Republicans will now hold 34 governorships, the highest amount since 1922.
But ABC’s “World News Tonight” and “NBC Nightly News” chose not to cover the story at all, according to the Media Research Center.
CBS was the only big-three broadcast network to cover the news, and even then only gave the story a measly 13 seconds.
“The President is promising a big announcement at a rally this evening in West Virginia. Spoiler alert: The news is the governor of West Virginia is switching parties. Democrat Jim Justice is becoming a Republican,” said anchor Anthony Mason on CBS.
Instead of covering Justice’s switch, ABC and NBC thought it more important to share a list of the most stolen car models and details of a Boeing test flight, respectively.

This has long been the case. The pinkos who run so-called “news” media don’t warp public opinion solely by what they report, but even more so by what they choose to not report.

Of course the ‘ignore’ it.

You can bet if a Republican Governor had switched to a Democrat it would have been the top story
Big deal. He switched from one wing of the Uniparty to the other.
Compare this with the attention given to Jim Jeffords and Lincoln Chafee. This shift took the balance of power from Republican to Democrat in the US Senate in 2001, and put Tom Daschle in as Senate Majority Leader.
Of course the mainstream applauded this “conversion” as it threw a wrench into whatever agenda the Republicans may have had in those years. It certainly tied Bush-43’s hands.
Let’s be honest here. The only thing that tied GWB’s hands was GWB.
I saw it in full on my local NBC affiliate this morning.
ABC NBC and DNC just had a huge dose of suck it.
I think we should all wait until this fall when the major networks start their big fall season with new shows.
We should all turn off our televisions for the entire day. Radio too.
Heck - I’d turn them off for the entire week.
The way the Bush clan has revealed itself it looks like his hands weren’t tied at all.
They are helping the Rats maintain control by keeping their LoFo viewers ignorant (and blissful).
I’m ignoring it as well. I mean, this guy flips parties like I flip burgers.
