Yesterday, we noted the left’s freak-out over the news that the Justice Department will be investigating race-based discrimination in college and university admissions.
The freak-out was on full display on Andrea Mitchell’s MSNBC show yesterday. You knew the fix was in from Mitchell’s choice as guests of two critics of the initiative: the Washington Post‘s Jonathan Capehart, and Janai Nelson of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
The most outrageous moments came when Mitchell said: “I don’t know if there are cases, even” of white students being disadvantaged by minority students taking available slots.

I haven't been in hospitals for more than a decade, but recently have spent a few days at two (relatives, friends) and it was instantly noticeable among nursing staff, and somewhat less among the medical cohort...
I remember back in the 80’s I went for an interview with AT&T in White Plains. I was the only white women in the group. I was the first one turned away. That was affirmative action at it’s best. I found a job at General Foods that year.
Almost 40 years of Affirmative Action and she couldn’t imagine how it has affected Americans other than minorities and women? She’s in her own little world. Either that or she’s lying through her teeth.
She is not grasping the simple logic of affirmative action. I really overrated the intellect of these newspeople.

Basic economics: I have 3 cars for sale. 10 people show up wanting to buy a car from me. 8 of the people are white and 2 of the people are black. I sell 2 cars to the black people and the last car is sold to one of the 8 white people. Seven white people never have a chance to be customers.
Do the white people feel disadvantaged? Were these 7 people affected by my decision to give preferential status to black customers?
Andrea doesn’t see? No, she’s just lying about it.

Even if you inform her about the high profile cases she would respond that there might be a few instances but that the “good of the many” would far outweigh them. She is actually demented enough to think that the vast number of blacks that are hired/admitted are actually the best qualified candidates. Then again “diversity” now counts as a qualification, mainly because its the only category where white males cannot compete.

I don't care what the intent originally was, it is an obscene distortion of equal protection. In the old days, along with nepotism, referred to as overcompensation.
Well, if no white people are being hurt by affirmative action quotas, there is no need for them anymore is there?
She must have missed all the angry parents from the 1970’s onward who had their children bused to other schools outside their neighborhood.
Yep, Immigrants get the grants first even over black and Hispanic legal citizens. Whites may as well not even apply. The only whites who get these loans are single mothers with a child or two.

Affirmative action was originally sold and marketed as when two candidates are EQUALLY qualified the advantage would be given to the minority. That went out the window quickly when they couldnt find minority candidates as qualified as others. Then it became just hire the best minority you can get.
Give me five minutes with her—for just one person’s many examples...
What an idiot! It would take a little effort on Andrea’s part to do some research and talk to white kids who were passed over for scholarships and grants at major universities for the sake of “diversity”

Willfully ignorant or simply stupid, sometimes it’s a distinction without a difference. Preferential admittance policies achieved male-female parity on college campuses in 1976. They haven’t been changed since then and now people are wondering where all the young men are. So change that policy, right? Never! And so it goes.
Remember Andrea’s job was to make Hillary appealing to America. She was a shill for Hillary for the past 2 years. and it did not help. So we can only conclude people don’t listen to her.
Stupid bitch - the harm is the very goal of AA. It is reverse discrimination, nothing more or less...meaning that it is discrimination.
