FULL TITLE: 'Our beautiful boy has gone': Little Charlie Gard's parents announce that their brave warrior whose plight touched the world has finally died after battling devastating genetic illness he fought for so long
Eleven-month-old Charlie Gard, whose short life captured the hearts of the world, has died a week before his first birthday.
Charlie suffered from a rare genetic condition which saw him in hospital for the majority of his short life.
His parents, Connie Yates and Chris Gard, fought a lengthy and emotional legal battle to take their severely ill baby son to the US for treatment, but were denied by judges.
Charlie's mother, Connie, said tonight: 'Our beautiful little boy has gone, we are so proud of you Charlie.'
Yesterday courts denied his parents the chance to bring their son home to die and he was taken to a hospice. Charlie's plight has seen hundreds of supporters - called Charlie's Army - lending their voices and money to see the child given treatment, with £1.35 million raised on an online fund-raising site.
Pope Francis and US president Donald Trump weighed into the debate, with the Vatican saying the pontiff prayed for 'their wish to accompany and treat their child until the end is not neglected'.

That innocent child is now in the precious arms of Jesus. Prayers offered up for the grieving parents.
You keep them in your heart and go on. That’s what my daughter did.
Murdered by the Govt..which is exactly the way progressives see the use of the Govt..to murder children. The same liberals who scream about “My Body My Choice” when parents want to make decisions for their children these same liberals say “Hey its not your choice its the Govts” RIP sweet baby Charlie..you fought hard, and we will continue to fight for you
Little Charlie will be vindicated in due time by the Lord God Almighty. God bless his parents and those who fought for him to be treated in America.
You talk like someone who's never had to deal with saying goodbye to a loved one. Very cerebral.
We shall see.
While the clock was ticking on this little boy’s life - with each moment bringing more brain damage that was potentially reversible - the British bureaucracy debated what to do with him. By the time he was examined to see if he was a good candidate for experimental therapy - which would have possibly helped other families in this situation too - the damage was irreversible and there was no hope left.
When the bureaucracy makes the decisions this is always what will happen.
That Charlie died the same day as McCain killed Obamacare repeal is either ironic or providential, depending on how America responds to that fact.
We need to pray for these parents. They seem close now, but the toll this has taken on them is indescribable. Under similar circumstances, a significant percentage of couples eventually separate. Let’s pray together that this doesn’t happen in this case.
May God bless them both, as He is even now holding, comforting and blessing Charlie.
When the thing that has "gone wrong" is the heavy hand of a powerful elite dictating what you may not do for your sick child, then you should darn well begrudge something ... not God, or nature, but that tyrannical bloc of elitists.
An earlier article in the DM said the parents planned to start a foundation in memory of Charlie.

DITTO, nuff said.....
O Lord Who watches over children in the present life and in the world to come because of their simplicity and innocence of mind, abundantly satisfying them with a place in Abraham’s bosom, bringing them to live in radiantly shining places where the spirits of the righteous dwell; receive in peace the soul of Your little servant Charlie, for You Yourself have said: “Let the little children come to Me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”
Priest: For only Yours is the Kingdom of Heaven and to You we ascribe glory, together with Your Eternal Father and Your All; Holy, Good, and Life-creating Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Could not agree more that health decisions should be between the patient and the doctor, never the bureaucrats. With a footnote in case of baby Gard, the medical opinion was divided in favor of incurable situation. In spite of that, if the parents have the means, by all means they should be the final deciders in pursuing whatever medical procedures they desire for their child.
May he be in the arms of his Savior.
And may the Lord have mercy on us all, particularly the wicked doctors, lawyers, judges, bureaucrats, and politicians who murdered by suffocation this poor baby. May God, in His infinite mercy, spare them the eternity of burning in Hell they have so richly earned.
Prayers up for Charlie’s parents. I know what it is like to lose a child — you never get over it. I hope there is a special place in Hell for all of those involved at NHS who let this happen.
Hey, little one. Know that in your brief life you touched more hearts than many who live for a century.
Perhaps the greatest life on earth is one that is loved by strangers.
The baby WAS NOT MURDERED.

You talk like someone who’s never known anyone who’s had to deal with losing loved ones.
