Pardon our dust, system improvements in process. John is making some fairly significant changes to our operating system tonight in an effort to tighten up security and possibly iron out some of the snags that have been slowing us down. So far, so good, but have encountered a few 404 errors on pings and mail, etc. But a reload brought up the pages and John says he should have that worked out soon. Light load tonight. The real test will be tomorrow during the heat of the battle.
We appreciate the efforts.
Thanks Jim and John.
Great...start my day with Italian food porn...I may never come back from lunch!
My wifey says it IS my home!
I don’t wanna know...
I thought I was getting a “shot across the bow” yesterday when it came to a standstill. Thank you for allowing me to come participate and I will indeed contribute when things get better for us, We are still catching up from the last few years under Obama.
May I share an observation I made yesterday for your consideration? It might not be a factor at all but I noticed that it seemed to slow down during the hottest part of the day. Almost like a piece of equipment was overheating and going into “limp” mode by throttling it’s self down for self protection until it cooled back down.
It slowed down for awhile then picked back up for a bit then slowed back down again during the hottest part of the day. Almost like something was heating up, cooling back down, then heating up again. Just a curious thought from my own past experiences with overheating electronic equipment.
Again, Thank you!
Quick additional note... I have had this happen even in a very well air-conditioned environment. All it takes sometimes is a couple degree difference inside the box to switch modes or a “touchy” thermistor sensor.
Steady as she goes.
You’ve tasted earwax?!?
Eyeww!
Checks in the mail Jim...
Thanks!
FYI; it’s crazy slow again today. Sure hope this issue can be solved soon.
Good point!
They still use tubes and wafer capacitors!
The thing is; it’s not consistently slow. It will have times of normal or acceptable speed then bog down and hang indefinitely.
I’d like to wring the scrawny necks of those doing this to us. Maybe even pinch off their heads and feed them to the hogs for a snack.
Go John!

Thank you very much, Big Red Badger!! Greatly appreciated.
I’ve been monitoring the system since around 6:30 this morning. It’s been running very smoothly since John’s updates, but response time suddenly nosedived at 10:00 am. The DOS attackers have been trying all morning, but have had little to no impact until now. May need some additional adjustments.

Appears to be coming back up to speed now. Maybe John can find something in the logs for the last 25 minutes or so.

Have I ever told you that I like the way you think?
