(CNN)Yes, you read that right. Inmates in White County, Tennessee, can shave 30 days off their jail sentence if they undergo an elective birth control procedure.
Both male and female inmates can volunteer for the new program. Women receive a Nexplanon implant in their arm, which provides up to three years of continuous birth control. Men undergo a vasectomy. The procedures are free and conducted by the Tennessee Department of Health.

i have never heard of such inanity (well, actually I have...from such crazies as Mad Maxine Waters or Nancy Pelosi or HilLIARy)
but anyway,
no man has to be “burdened” by children
there is no logic to this judge’s order
he needs to go back to 4th grade sex ed class

A lot of people on this thread do not understand what a vasectomy is. Inmates should NOT be granted lesser sentences for getting free cosmetic procedures paid by taxpayers.

Works for me. I only regret that the vasectomies are reversible and the implants only last three years.

In what ways is a vasectomy a “cosmetic” procedure?
To: PapaBear3625
Haha nevermind, I was the one confusing vasectomies with circumcision. Castrate em all...

You’re right about that. Assuming they know who the father is in the first place, he just drops little offspring all over the ‘hood and the burden of providing for them falls on you, me, and other taxpayers.

Better to cut the scrotum than to stay in jail and subject to anal sex.

At the 1st drug arrest offer $1,000 if they will undergo sterilization.
The state would make that money back in savings in the foster system a 100 times over.

I just wished that the “parents” of Jerry Brown had practiced safe sex the night they made him. Pelosi too. Oh what the hell, I have a really long list of people I wished hadn’t been born.

It probably has to do with the level of difficulty of the procedure and the amount they have to pay the medical personnel (or their time commitment if they are doing it pro bono).

It isn't mandatory yet. Guess Bill Nye would approve.

There was a political movement back in the 1930s that did the same thing.

"As typical, the ACLU is aghast... "
You think that has the ACLU's panties in a bunch, I think we should offer death row inmates a set fee for every year they are under the age of 72 to drop all appeals and accept immediate imposition of sentence (except the first 'mandatory' appeal). Check out early in exchange for leaving something material behind their baby mama and her curtain jerkers.
