What are we in Afghanistan for, if not to stand for our own values and the principles of human rights? Instead, U.S. officials are aiding and abetting the destruction of these boys’ lives — and all too often sacrificing the lives of our own troops. This is beyond shameful.

Historically Afghans down thru the ages have always had intimate relations with Boys who they consider to be better company than the women. .....and likely are.
ME women may be attractive outwardly in some cases but you would not want to live with most of them. They are seen as baby producers basically....to extend the family.
The women have been used, abused and dis-respcted for so many generations that the ‘culture’ of their women is full of bitterness and hatred.....and that includes self-hatred.

I have read them as well.....the Afghanistan men haven’t a clue what intimacy with women is about. One female GI revealed
the relationship between the sexes is purely to produce children....she tried to teach one guy about tenderness toward his wife who couldn’t even begin to grasp what she was talking about.
