Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter received medical attention for dehydration while in Winnipeg on Thursday, where he is helping build a Habitat for Humanity home.
A Habitat volunteer told CBC News he saw Carter, 92, collapse.
Firefighters and paramedics were seen scrambling, and an ambulance was brought to the area.

Carter was a disaster as president. But he’s out there - at 92 - trying to help people. So I’ll give credit where credit is due. And credit is due here.

It will be so nice when the servers are fixed, but you win the trophy for the very rare “duplicate but not consecutive post”. :D

There was a very memorable interview that Barry Goldwater gave to Parade Magazine in the early Nineties and among other things he said that the longer Carter stayed out of office, the better he would look to history and to people in general. But I think that was contingent on Carter staying out of and aloof even from politics. Obviously that did not happen.

For those not remembering,
The Wellstone memorial became a campaign rally and fund raiser for the party.

Prayers for Brer Jimmy.
He's not my cup of tea, and he's flawed (like us all) but he usually keeps his yap shut. His Habitat work is thousands of times more than any MSN poseur has ever done for anyone.

I went to high school in Americus GA, and was part of ‘President Jimmy Carter’s Home Representative Band’. Also at that school were the kids of Millard Fuller, the founder of Habitat for Humanity. One of those kids has worked for Habitat for many years.

Wait. They need “Habitat for Humanity” in Canada? Gee, I thought it was a semi-socialist utopia up there.
