Senate Republicans bill to erase major parts of the Affordable Care Act would cause an estimated 22 million more Americans to be uninsured in the coming decade about 1 million fewer than similar legislation recently passed by the House, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Before anyone takes the CBO seriously, let’s take a walk down memory lane about how wrong they were on their pre-passage estimates of what Obamacare would do. The CBO is infested with liberal tools.
By “leave uninsured “, I assume they mean people taxpayers will no longer foot the bill for. I would also imagine that among those millions “left uninsured” were people who either chose not to buy insurance, or wouldn’t have it unless it was “free”. There are millions in this country sucking the government teat that shouldn’t be, and I am just fine with taking a good look at who gets what.
I wonder if this figure includes those who CHOOSE not to purchase insurance? For example, does this figure include young adults who feel they are 10 feet tall and bullet proof and choose to spend their money on other things? If so, an honest assessment of the Bill cannot be made without identifying the number of people in the category noted above.
Would this be the same CBO that failed to see that Obamacare would self destruct in a matter of a few years?
The Congressional Budget Oriface is stuffed with Obamanites.
I think they said 14,000 lost their Obama insurance last year.
Yep.
And this article is claiming that by 2026 that number will double - or more than double? It stretches credibility, but I'll roll with it.
And then, in order to be correct, every single one of the people would need to lose their insurance? And not be able to get covered by anything else?
Jeez, just a cursory "think" about it, says that the logic doesn't make a bit of sense.
Insurance companies are getting so specialized they are insuring only people they have determined (through family histories and other unspecified means) to have low risks for expensive diseases, who are likely to go quickly when it is their time to die, and for whom lengthy medical treatments available to extend and help lives have been exempted in the insurance policy.
The CBO is infested with liberal FOOLS................
I don’t really understand why we even have it. I get it “conceptually” but these things are so complex it’s just trying to predict a future without knowing how population behaviors will change and adjust.
They’re just guessing, what is their accuracy of past predictions?
Senate GOP Plan Leaves 90% of Obamacare in place.
They need to run the numbers on how many will be uninsured by private insurance if nothing is done.
How convenient. The CBO is nothing but a rat tool. Just shows how impossible it’s going to be to get a real bill through. The bill as it stands is a kiss up to the precious moderates and still the CBO sends out this crap.
Providing insurance is not providing care.
Let Obamacare collapse. That’s all you can do at this point. Otherwise, the Republicans/White House have to be out there with a full PR blitz showing the victims of Obamacare (media failing to cover listening sessions with victims done by Trump and Pence) and showing how this bill will help the everyday American. Passing a bill with a lower approval than Obamacare won’t help in 2018.
No doubt, but the Republicans/White House have to do a PR strategy then to combat this and show why it’s wrong. Show how wrong they were about Obamacare.
Lack of insurance isn’t a problem.
Costs high enough for people to desperately want insurance is.
