Personal data on 198 million voters, including analytics data that suggests who a person is likely to vote for and why, was stored on an unsecured Amazon server.

A huge trove of voter data, including personal information and voter profiling data on what's thought to be every registered US voter dating back more than a decade, has been found on an exposed and unsecured server, ZDNet has learned.

...

The exposed records include files provided by Data Trust, a data warehouse created by the GOP to serve as its exclusive data provider of voter records.

Too convenient to be unintentional. Could be quite useful to the hysterical party of perpetual outrage Marxist Dems.

Where are the leaks? Or was the information vulnerable to someone taking the data and sharing it with others? Is the data already public information?

Was the person who left the file open on the Cloud a Russian? A DNC operative? A Never Trumper? A Brit? Pakistani?

Doesn’t sound right. All that information is held by separate counties.

“was stored on an unsecured Amazon server.”

Sounds like a totally legit thing...

Wait Amazon? Since when did they start holding the voter info?

Amazon provides cloud services to anyone to store anything. They are technically not holding the voter data, they were providing servers and storage to someone else who was.

Who wants to bet that a Clinton operative now possesses this data?

It was the Russians!

It seems to happening almost yearly according to the article. 181 million not to long ago (would not doubt that most the same voters got exposed again).

The important question of the day, “With this data can you spot the illegal and dead?”

“No no they alway say children are hardest hit”

No. They always say it is ‘for the children’.

Grannies in wheelchairs are hit the hardest.

The only one entity responsible for all of America's troubles is Satan.

The USA has been predominantly a Christian nation since it's inception and we, the people stood unashamed and unafraid to call on the name of Jesus.

That all started to turn in the sixties and little by little various evil elements have gotten in ... the camel's nose, if you will, and we are faced with an overwhelming task of calling the devil out and fighting him.

So who is at fault? Amazon or the data analytics company?

I’m only guessing, but I think Amazon will say that they provide a bare system and it’s their customer’s responsibility to secure it.

Think of it this way. You own and rent out storage lockers for a living. When someone pays, they get access to the locker. What they do with it is up to them.

One renter of a storage locker doesn’t lock it. In fact, he doesn’t even close the door. So people are free to come in as they please and take whatever they want.

In this scenario, as owner of the storage locker, are you liable? Of course not.
