The Skittles candy companys colorless campaign, meant to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month, is being bashed and called a poorly veiled white supremacist stunt by social media users.
Skittles ditched its iconic colorful rainbow bags and released an ad that said: During Pride, only one rainbow matters. So, weve given up ours to show our support.
A portion of the profits from each bag of fruit-flavored candy (purchased exclusively at Tesco grocery stores) will go to LGBT charities, the company said.
But the ad campaign was slammed on social media, with several offended users equating the companys use of an all-white bag and candies to white supremacy.

Oh, those are good! I like a, ‘Payday’ bar once in a while, or the Pearson’s Salted Nut Roll, which is basically the same thing.
OR - mix a bowl of Candy Corn and Salted Peanuts. HEAVEN!
Man, I sound like I eat candy all day long, LOL! Well, I AM a Grown Up now, and one of my childhood goals WAS to eat all the candy I wanted that my Mom would never let us have, LOL!
Mmmm... I shall have to try this. But first, I need to get a bag of black jellybeans. when my better half eats Necco wafers, I get all the licorice ones. Love 'em.
What did skittles ever do to them except make’em $hit rainbow colors?
Shhh! I’m crazy for ‘Good & Plenty’ candies, though I don’t indulge in them often enough. Necco Wafers are Da BOMB; you chose a mate wisely, Grasshopper! :)
Man, I miss the THRILL of being a kid with a fist full of pocket change in her hand, nose pressed against the glass of The Candy Counter making Life and Death decisions on what to buy. I swear, if we currently had kids buying candy that way, they’d make MUCH better Life Choices! (How DO kids buy candy these days? Order it from Amazon Prime? *SNORT*)
Yeah, I’m kinda old...but I’ve still got most of my faculties and surprisingly, with a lifetime of candy consumption behind me, all of my own teeth, LOL!
Black skittles = Shittles
I remember buying candy bars for a nickel. Can’t say much else...
Is Skittlespox still a communicable disease?
Someone needs to go to prism for this.
LOL! Nope, when I was a kid and was given a pack of jelly beans I would slip the black ones out the window of the car.
Sen. Robert Byrd memorial Skittles!
“Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who’s most victimized of all?”
And the Payday bar was like the fat end of a baseball bat. One of those and a 3 Musketeers made a nice lunch.
You don't like white racis sugar, that's your choice, folks.
Also, a lot of colored candy is white once you dissolve the colored layer.
complaints from the people who do not understand that all the rainbow colors turn into white light.
Uneducated, or stupid or purposefully ignorant and too stupid to know what they don’t know.
Regular Skittles are a problem because we have to eat each color separately. Eating a red one and a yellow one together is too much like race mixing. White Skittles are better for a lot of reasons. “Taste the Rainbow”? Yeah, right.
Rainbows are comprised
of different wave lengths
of white light....
Sarcasm where required...
White light is somewhat analogous to white noise, in that it’s all perceivable (with our senses) frequencies at once.
Perceiving different wavelengths of light as colors is a quirk of the specialized brain cells in our retinas, and the firmware in our brains which processes vision.
If we ever openly encounter an intelligent alien species, they might well have a completely different method of perceiving photons and processing imagery which doesn’t discriminate wavelengths, therefore no colors.
Today, that would be called a "hate crime."
I’ve seen the ‘Predator’
movies. For any well
know company, from candy
manufacturer to baker,
it’s just plain ridiculous
to apply one’s sexual
beliefs in the promotion
of their product. This
practice creates an instant
division between those that
believe in god’s intention
and those that choose to ignore it.
(by the way, I reside in Roswell)
My boycott list grows
larger by the day.
